Volume 5 was worded a touch weird. But I believe what happened is that Jinshi was trying to force a kiss onto Maomao. And then her instincts kicked in and she took charge and kissed him thoroughly, but the action made him feel emasculated and humiliated, especially since it seemed more like she was doing a chore than something she was enjoying. I think 9 was only a cheek kiss. Right now there are only 10 volumes in English, but if you preorder off of J-Novel Club you can read the next volume as it is getting translated.

Volume 10 of apothecary diaries released its last part on December 22nd 2023 and then released the first part of volume 11 (out of like I think 16 parts?) on January 5th 2024. However, vol 10 got released to digital stores on January 18th and vol 11 is slated for a May 20th release. Also. J-Novel Club releases one part a week. The other volumes were 13 or 14 parts, but 11 has spots for 16. So I think it’s going to take a bit for it to get translated.
I don’t know about the manga since I am only a LN reader. But last I heard was that they were still only in like vol 4 of the LN content wise.

You are welcome. I am thankful for J-Novel Club and how you can basically see the progress of stories getting translated. Feels better than just constantly going back to other manga/light novel translator websites and HOPING for a new release date to show up. Or any kind of information on if the story is still coming out. (I am dying waiting for more Secrets of the Silent Witch)
