In a halloween even with the kindergarten school, when Kaya-chan gets seperated from her father,
a dangerous (probable pedophile, killer or whatever) male attempts to kidnap Kaya after she mistakes him for his dad a few times.

Nemu (who I still think is probably her uncle) saves her... but maybe he's the one to kidnap her now.
His attitude seems uncaring somehow when he hides her face with her mask after he explains to her that her exorcist powers don't work on humans.

... Interesting to see Kaya powerless and scared of "monsters" for the first time.
I wonder what Nemu will do to Kaya now that he has her.

Since he believes her dark entity is dangerous, unless Chie saves her in time, I guess he'll lock her up somewhere.
He never seemed to know a way to save her in any way, so I doubt he can save her at the moment.

It is both illuminating, and confounding.

If Kaya's shadow form is truly dangerous as Nemu thinks, then shouldn't it work on humans then?
In fact, WHY is Kaya-chan powerless against a human? Why does "those things" dont work?

Does this mean Kaya is not in fact a spirit? Or possessed by a spirit? A spirit can harm a human, quite easily in fact. Kaya can't.
It further mystifies attempts to find what Kaya's shadow form actually is. Why her body blackens the more she uses it.
And what her unborn sibling truly is.

Another thing of note is that her dad is suspiciously absentminded about the whole thing. It makes him somewhat suspicious, especially considering the state of his wife, and the states of his children.
Grandma Ebisumori is clearly afraid of Kaya. But their clan should be used to strange powers, if the eldest daughter regularly gets them. Which means, Kaya is so far beyond what they know that is scares them witless.
Then, what caused Kaya and her sibling to be an "anomaly"? Now my suspicion falls on her dad, rather than the mom.

More mystery to the pile.

Great questions!
I never thought to think deeper into why she's powerful against spirits, yet powerless against humans, unlike the spirits.
This does make Nemu's fear of her even more perplexing if she's powerless against humans,
so I guess she could somehow turn evil, and at worst, maybe control or summon spirits.
What if every spirit she's destroyed, she's absorbed... so either, she can potentially release them all or eventually use all of their strength together to become an ultimate human spectre.

Except, there's the continued mystery of who this dark entity is inside her.
A split personality that Granny Mutsu fears, somehow believing it hurt Nana, and could kill her, even though Nana is well and alive...

I don't know about the father. He is very oblivious from how his wife Mirai has kept her past secret.
Thinking about him more critically, it is curious how he's very unaware or concerned about Kaya's reputation as a problem child.
Which is sweet that he trusts her, so far, he's never question Kaya or Mirai about their mysteries, completely unknown to him.
I think he's genuinely unaware and simply trusting, but who knows.

Based on Nana, Granny Mutsu, and Nemu's behavior,
I still think Mirai is the most suspicious for having two abnormal children.
Unless, somehow, the father is actually the cause of all of this.

Knowing about their gifts and using it for evil and utmost power.
But then, who the hell is Kaya's split personality.

... So many questions.
As great as this manga is in mystery, I wish it was a bit less comedic and episodic.
That it's biggest flaw, so far, aside from some potential plot holes in the future.
Either way, I love it. It's underrated with a lot of potential.
