This is one of the stupidest chapters I have ever read. There are some good twists and story beats, but it is just undermined by the most idiotic character actions. The chapter first starts by convincing you that Highlanders aren't inherently evil, but just filled with arrogant jerks that Cyrene isn't. Cyrene then reveals that the Highlanders are even more evil than originally implied, but she's a good person who is looking to turn against the Highlanders eventually. While Cyrene is a good person, it's hard to feel much sympathy for her when you know what her people are doing and she hasn't started that planned rebellion she has. What's even more horrifying is that Cyrene is turned into a monster and ends the chapter as a pet. There is no respect for her human dignity and the main characters can't seem to understand the various moral issues at all.
