Could anyone provide information on the release date for the upcoming second season of 86 ? Having recently completed the first season, I found it to be a compelling masterpiece. Consequently, my anticipation for the next season is quite high .

it sure has potential for 2nd season but they didn't announced anything related to it . So search for other anime.

I'd argue that the following seasons of 86 will be peak, it's not even at its best yet. The anime has only covered 3 of 12 LN volumes rn. The potential is crazy

Anyway, the original LN by Asato Asato is officially entering its final part starting by Vol. 14, so we can hope for a move by the studio in order to somehow increase sales.

Solo Leveling and 86 were worked on by different staff. It's all about Nier Automata, which most of the staff is working on, that worked on the adaptation of 86. When they finish the second part - it will be AT LEAST possible to hope for a sequel. But for now - 0 chances of that.
I doubt that we'll get a hint of a sequel announcement this year, if we ever get one at all...

That's how we live :(

@Da_mikasa_simp 86 is one of those kinds of stories where it somehow only gets better. Dare I say that the United Kingdom Arc is the one of if not the best arc in the entire narrative.

hoping for another 2 cour sequel. ๐Ÿ˜–๐Ÿ˜–๐Ÿ˜–
It's not that I dislike this genre but... to add unnecessary fan services to/in/for heroines
and ultimately destroys her character and personality; their purity tarnished because of it,
is the only thing I hope to not happen to them. For that sole purity is my fan service.

In Eromanga-sensei OVA 2 (by the same studio) there is an Eighty-Six Vol. 5 reference. Maybe that's an hint for a Second Season adaption (Vols. 4-6) ๐Ÿ˜‚

Eromanga sensei OVAs premiered in 2019, Eighty-Six was announced in 2020, and then premiered in 2021. It would be nice if we receive the same treatment also this year.

Moreover, lets remember that A-1 Pictures first depicted a multi-legged tank in 2010 with the "So Ra No Wo To"'s Takemikazuchi.

I fear that we may end up becoming this generation’s version of No Game No Life fans if this keeps up…

Anyway, I’ve always kinda felt that it’d be better if the next installment be a movie rather than a S2 announcement, since I worry as to whether the Volume 4 material would work as well in TV format
Barely catching my breath!
Lay my eyes on the crest!
Gonna square up to all of the heat that is left!
So I carry the torch! To Inferno! Inferno!

I too really wish to see more seasons of 86. The delay of the last few episodes led me to read the books, and I even finished volume 12 mere moments ago.
From my own interactions with friends who don't like it, they just say it's mecha and won't watch it for that only reason.
I can only hope that A-1 determine they want to make it and put it in production when they get the room in their schedule
.

When I last checked A-1 schedule was packed with other titles. So I think it will need some more time to get a clear scheduled, if any.

That said, the merch sales of this series was still quite active last timr I checked. I even managed to get a ¥23,000 Lena figure myself which I have been really happy since. My judgment is that if the merch still being released and sold out, 86 will likely get a sequel anime.

I really hope we'll get some announcement about it soon...the longer we wait, the smaller is the chance for such a masterpiece to be continued, especially with the LN coming to an end.
I'm starting to get worried :(

86 New season and after that still has so much potential..... I'm still positive their gonna have a new season launched but probably not soon.... The Light Novel especially Volume 11 is peak ngl..... I thought Volume 8 or 9 was good but damn I'd be wrong.... Volume 11 is so brutal, Beautiful, and Emotional
