At the moment I'm writing this I have yet to finish the anime since I stopped the episode right after this happened, therefore it is possible that this is explained later in the series, however I noticed this and immediately had to ask and share this. Edit: I have finished the first season, and it was not explained further. On the other hand this could also just be a human error in the production. I believe I remember that the grandpa set up the portal to endow the first user with all the permissions and benefits he had, along with ownership of his house in the other world. So it could just be an automatic trigger to bless Yuuya. |
Note: I don’t lazily watch 3-5 episodes, biasedly compare to other anime, or unfairly judge by surface level similarities. With every anime I start, I watch the entire series, both Japanese Sub & English Dub, then judge each anime based on what they present, to give an honest and fair rating.  |

The LN says 初めて異世界を訪れた者 which can mean "first person to have had visited the other world" for Yuuya.
This would then mean Yuuya is the only person who ever travelled between worlds and would explain why Kaori doesn't have that one.
Some people might argue Yuuya's grandfather is the wise man (not sure if that's how he is called in English) but from chapters going after the anime we know the wise man actually was in the other world hundreds of year before Yuuya.
So (knowing I haven't read more than volume 6 of the LN) I would say there are 2 possibilities about Yuuya's grandpa.
1st
His grandpa isn't the wise man
2nd
His grandpa is native of the other world and then wouldn't have been granted the 初めて異世界を訪れた者 title.
This would then mean Yuuya is the only person who ever travelled between worlds and would explain why Kaori doesn't have that one.

Judging from what you said, it's possible that it's just simply a translation error. If that's the case then this is solved, however I think it would make for a good "plot-twist" if she actually was already a traveller but nobody knew. |
