Dont get me wrong, season 2 is great. Wednesday is the day i look most forward to when this was airing. I just didn’t get the same feelings and goosebumps as I did for season 1. What do yall think?

Pretty accurate, though the second was not bad at all

there is no such thing as season

it's one series one story called The Eminence in Shadow.

if you stuck at season 1 you will never get to the end of the story.

it's the same as said overlord season 1 better so don't make overlord season 2,3,4 & 5 because you are a elitist nerd.

It's mostly a psychological thing I think ... because in season 1 We didn't know much about shadow or shadow garden and as they revealed their secrets it kinda felt cool but as story goes on you know what the MC is capable of... so it's gets kind of boring but Eminence in shadow manages to remove that boredom by introducing things like Different roles of MC... example Mudane Man.. John Smith...Which removes the familiarity to some degree but even then you cannot remove it fully.... however there were times when animation was a little choppy on season 2 (but understandable considering how fast season 2 came out).. but it's my personal opinion ...and I think Season 2 was just as great as Season 1

seasons adapts part of the light novel. So i definitely think its fair to say a part of a story is more fun than another part.

for me, the story didn't had much depth, like that ep8 which was a anime only and total unnecessary, so i follow your emotion, 1 season had a suspence, now we know shadow completely

I feel like the reason this season wasn't as good as it should have been is cuz of the amount of fan service this season had. like 90% of the time delta talked they showed her ass instead of her face. this is up there with fire force when it comes down to worst usage of fan service in my opinion.

Ofc Season 1 was better. S2 was boring at so many points: this John Smith thing, the Recovery atomic, the pool episode etc.

I reached to the same conclusion. Number of eps helped S1 but it was also interesting compared to S2 where the plot didn't move forward much.

But this is issue with all Isekai. S2 of isekai doesn't have the same appeal as S1.

Rezero is the only isekai that got better in S2 despite an amazing S1. Rest not so much.

I don't know why some people always criticise good anime, season 2 was also amazing, we should also appreciate good crafts. I have really high hopes for season 3 🙏🏻

It’s probably due to the nature of the show.
Since it’s a parody show and doesn’t really rely on character or plot to drive the story, it has to depend on its gimmicks and puns to conventional isekai.
S1 felt good as it was fresh and a new twist to isekai.
S2 feels dull as it’s simply repeating the gimmicks it used in S1.
We already know now that Cid is delusional and has no idea what is happening. We already know the dynamics of the shades.
All this was new in S1 so it felt good.

This show has boiled down to an eye candy show with the occasional hilarious pun or dialogue. It was always meant to be this.

Just drool at the waifus and fan service, laugh a bit here and there and enjoy the nice animation. Maybe glance over the surface level plot.

That’s all left to the show.

this was definitely a downgrade from the first season it was needlessly complicated the entire john smith plotline was questionable the dragon tears part was there just for the fan service not that i have any problem with fan service in anime but when the entire point is just the fan service it feels empty i think the production quality did most of the heavy lifting

well i can see where you are coming from
true s1 was kinda better
but imo its only at best a bit of a downgrade
if s1 was 100 then s2 is like 96
i kinda didn't like delta fan service or rather any fan service they showed in s2(i dun like that sorta stuff so its my personal prob ig) and for the rest of u ,it might just be cuz of that , at this point u know pretty much everything abt the characters and could expect what shadow would say ,do or think which u found fresh in s1
then again they developed rose, they dwelled on the past of yukihime, the worries of his big sis in this season
its pretty much same sorta stuff as first season
dunno what u didn't like
hipocrisy?
Blah blah blah blah .... So annoying. Are you bastards in heat or something?

I loved these type of sword fighting scenes in season 1,which I felt like were missing in season 2.

Well yeah, one of the best volume is in the first season, the anime also improve the last fight, better animation, first atomic hype, no filler. Season 2 is not bad(except for the last eps), but it's definitely inferior.

Yea same. Still good not as good. We need more of Cid in dumb situations. John Smith arc was great though.

I think both season are great, probably also liked season 1 a tiny bit more. Also I'm pretty sure the movie won't be as good.

When he kept repeating the same fucking line about the red moon, the time is now, whatever the fuck else for like 2 fucking episodes, I was so over it. I was legitimately playing a game in the meantime watching, nay, trudging through this season so I wouldn’t be bored out of my fuckin mind. The other characters barely have any substance to keep my attention either and the storyline was abhorrent.
