Yes, Views on Japanese site were abysmal, so they didn't even wait for sales and scraped the sales after volume 2 gets completed.
There was a leak regarding it (deciding that volume 2 will be last) , sometime after chapter 4 was updated.

Btw, "History's Mentalist" has the same fate, though I'm not sure whether it's going to have 2 or 3 volumes.

Apparently it was never meant to be long running? In any case I fucking loved this manga. I'm looking forward to the author's next work.

Saying that series wasn't axed is a common coping mechanism which I notice fanbases use for most axed manga in Jump Plus. They don't provide any information about existence of messages from author or publisher about planning short series. Not to mention that views/sales don't help their case either.

Take a look at "Soul-Spewing Wielder", it announces during first page of first page, that it's planning to be short. "It's the start of a new and unusual
SHORT comedy".

Diasporaiser was the author's first series and it's not easy to publish series in well-known magazine. It would be a waste to make debut like this: a short series without both announcing it being short-term and not making more coherent plotline like "Takopi's Original Sin for example.

(we got 4 story arcs with 2+ chapters that don't connect to each other (connected character-wise, but not story-wise), and it's neither a slice-of-life episodic series. This world still has a lot to offer, so why end it right now with an open ending)

I liked the series too! Unfortunately they did her/him dirty. Working weekly instead of biweekly, with well maintained art, and got even less chapters than almost every other Jump+ series, even counting bi-weekly ones. One of the harshest axes.

This is all based on commenst I read on MangaPlus

"This series is confirmed to end in either 2 or 3 volumes cause the official volume listing listed first volume as ‘上’, just like Takopi’s 上 and 下. So it’s either 上 and 下 (2 volumes) or 上中下 (3 volumes)"

"The first volume is already up for preorder… with 上 (top) in its title. That’s usually reserved for series expected to have only two or three volumes, as that implies a middle/bottom volume (Takopi’s Original Sin, the Naruto spinoff manga). In other words, let’s see how this goes."

Is this true or not?

Yes, It was planned to end early with 2/3 volumes (they were unsure whether it's 2 or 3, because they couldn't know how many pages each chapter will have, since authors on jump+ have freedom when it comes to it, unlike physically released magazines like WSJ.)

It was decided before release of volume 1. BUT the fact that it was planned to end early doesn't confirm nor deny a reason for this decision. Whether it's because author's wishes or because it was underperforming and got cut loose by publisher.

That's why I ended up relying on different arguments in my earlier reply. I cannot give decisive proof but I'm leaning much more into the scenario of it being cancelled.
