saw this on netflix so i decided to just jump into it

so theres mephisto, the sidekick, and akuma kun, the genius main character. from this episode it seems this anime might be about them solving demon related problems, which would be pretty interesting to me tbh. i'm curious and excited to see how it will go

This anime, dude. This, right here, is filling the hole in my heart that Gegege no Kitaro left behind. What a strong first episode. The art style, perfect. The voice acting, perfect. OST, perfect. Easily, this is a perfect first impression of the franchise. Also, Toshio Furukawa's voice is always a pleasant bonus, his voice just means so damn much for me, since he seemingly never gives any role anything less than his absolute best. Not just him though, everybody. I'm instantly attached to every single character, which is not even remotely easy for an anime to pull off. Highlight joke is at the halfway mark, Ichiro directly referencing Kitaro's Yokai antenna power, and it even playing the sound effect, just for Mephisto III to say "I don't have any handy abilities like that."

Tl;dr, I'm fucking hooked. Netflix has a miracle of an ONA on their hands right now.

This is a freaking solid first episode. Even though, I'm not done with Toilet-bound Hanako; this has similar vibes but way easier to get into with my preference in shows. I also feel like the art work and OST can be likened to Gravity Falls, a show I really hold dear and love. I'm definitely hooked. Episode 1 - 10/10 for me.

The first episode was okay. It has a strange pace. It moved slow, but fast enough where you wanted to know more. I think the trailer makes it much more exciting than it is, but it IS just the first episode after all. I'll keep going with it.
