| And so it is that Caramel Man 004 receives his forever name: Obotchaman! Yes, as I understand it Weekly Shonen Jump held a naming contest back when he was first introduced and that was the winner. So had I been alive and living in Japan in 1983 who knows? Maybe I'd have had a shot at it! Most of this episode was manga material, from getting thrown out by Dr. Mashirito to stealing that jerk Suppaman's House and collapsing from lack of Robovitan-A. But the actual contest naming segment was largely new. I liked how Suppaman made a call back to the hide-and-seek opening of the episode too. Not much of a cliffhanger though, but we are creeping up on where I had to put the manga on hold now so things should get interesting... |
