| "I change the beast" - how very meta for this episode, quite deliberately so, I'd imagine. Simplified to fit the frame of an anime, but a good glimpse into this world. Challenging the concept of perfectionism and what it might mean to people in different walks of life - even if they move in the same circles. Quite the expansion from the initial presentation of "being introverted and a perfectionist means he's a difficult person". On a sidenote, the more we see of ULTRAz, the more they rub me the wrong way... the more evident it's becoming why: they're just so carefully crafted to be the modern take "alternatives" to the world of idols, they just come off as completely artificial. The beauty of indie guys like these two are supposed to be is that they're natural and authentic in their "amateur" roots... Yet these guys are obviously overdesigned in how they clash with all of BPRO as well as their styles and personalities with each other. They're shoehorned in so strongly it just breaks the mold. Case in point this in this episode: could've cut all their scenes and it would've had zero effect on anything. |
| 5 episodes in and i still don't like ultraz, especially a-suke. he unfortunately annoys the eff out of me since episode 1. on another note, glad thrive's singing changed the guy who composed their song, even if it's by a little bit |
