| Less humorous and more just plain brutal, but again, this is why I had to jump ship and start the manga. The 80s Toei anime is great for its own reasons, but this original version of the story is so obviously ahead of that adaptation in terms of tone, scope, and even the overall aesthetic and style. It's great!  |
