What do six-pointed star-shaped eyes mean? Are they just for design or do they mean something? As soon as Akane starts pretending to be Ai she unlocks them, so I was wondering what they were really for... 🤷‍♂️

For Aqua and Ruby, I assumed that since they are Ai kids, more of an inherited thing. Akane, on the other hand, only had them when she was acting as Ai. Her acting was so on point that she embedded the spirit of Ai for a minute. Even Aqua thought it was Ai for a second. Mostly, it's just a design thing for Ai and her kids.

It’s just a fun visual thing. It has no logic to it and doesn’t warrant any thought.

People can smile or laugh and act happy, but often, their eyes don’t show the same thing. Ai’s eyes reflecting her happy appearance is showing how she is trying to make her lies become the truth.

i think its not rly there for the characters its not an actual genetic trait. its more of a metaphorical "shine", ppl dont look at ruby and aqua and see the actual picture in their eyes, they see some kind of charisma and expression coming from them. akane was able to mimic this shine by copying Ai, she temporarily became someone that triggers something inside the watcher that draw ppl to her.
also its a cool design detail so the mcs stand out when around the others (that are also super vibrant)

They are given to mostly the main cast of the show to represent the passion or feelings in them

Like when aqua is helping others it turns white and when he's finding his mums killer it turns black

for idols it shows the running passion in them when they are on stage other than that it also shows what their feelings are too

Other than that theres not really another meaning for it than just to make it look good

I read somewhere that star eyes meant lies(idk abt ruby or aqua might be inherited) but the whole show we could see ai having the star eyes and also in the first ep where she said "Lies are the most exquisite love" and her eyes are seen sparkling and shining then at the end when she was dying and said 'I love you' to ruby and aqua her eyes stopped shining which means she wasn't lying that time abt loving them

it shows the fakeness of ai's personality. compared to it, her children inherited 1 star eye each, showing that the only lie they have is that they have been reborn-ed . Also the dead star in Aqua's eye shows the evil intention of finding the killer .

It symbolizes lies. Akane was lying about her personality so she had them. Aqua and Ruby always tell lies cuz they are hiding that they've reincarnated and their mom is Ai. That's why they have only one star in their eyes.
In manga (no spoilers) Ruby had 2 of them for a while cuz she was mentally down and started tell lies to everyone about her real personality like her mom

Its an interpretation that the OnK community has come to. Because you have other talented actors without those eyes, and the most common thing about the ones the author does show to have the eyes is that they are absolutely dazzling to people looking at them, and the different eye designs represent what the person is feeling.

yes true the anime I rewatch 3 times the anime is about lie and hide their past like the ruby hide the true she was patient herself about the reincarnate past and aqua he was doctor.
