| It seems like every conceivably awful thing that could possibly happen to Yozo inevitably always happens. Tsuneko couldn't even find peace in her death because she must've had an allergic reaction to the drugs, as if simply losing her just wasn't traumatizing enough. I see the image of Yozo and Tsuneko walking alongside each other on the beach is the same one that's printed all over the cover of the book itself, so I suspect that's going to be a recurring vision throughout the rest of the story. |
