Thorfinns fighting style

For any of the martial art geeks, what type of
martial art/fighting style do you guys think
Yukimura has Thorfinn using in season 2? Because
I noticed his stance is much lower and wider, so I
thought looked a little like karate. What do you guys
think?

His stance without a weapon looks like a karate stance but his kicks look a bit like a taekwondo kicks. With a weapon looks a bit like the special forces knife style

what he does is called freestyle fighting which is a mix of many kinds of martial arts and fighting forms.

Its called "anime fighting" lol.
Doesnt resemble any HEMA or popular practical martial arts. In style its likely inspired by southern kung fu. (generally anime fighting tends to be kung fu inspired) Southern kung fu is with a lower stance with predominantly kicks, looks pretty flashy.

Northern style would be like what youd see in the Sifu game. I also wouldnt equate Thorfins fighting to tkd, karate or wingchun. At times maybe it resembles classical jiu jitsu but all in all id just say "anime flashy fighting".

Thorfin was for the most part a kid getting in the inside of much larger opponents so its hard to point out a martial arts when hes fighting people twice his size.

freestyle is a type in its self look it up on Wikipedia if you wanna it is mix of many martial arts
