| I guess it ended on a positive note. This one was more surreal and experimental than the other parts, which made me think Murata was already moving on to a different style. The big lemon was a reference to Magritte's painting The Listening Room, making the surrealism connection explicit. I read that originally he planned there to be 5 movies, but it's been 15 years since the last one. I can see that artistically he might have felt that it was time to move on, as evidenced by the mixed techniques. There was some kind of conclusion, or as much as life ever has any, more like a suggestion of a conclusion. |
