I just finished watching the last episode of Charlotte, I can't help but feel like this story had a lot interesting to tell instead got limited by the number of episodes. What is supposed to be the most important conflict within the series has been resolved within the last episode with unnecessary asspull where Yuu loses memories because gaining too much power to create unwanted melodramatic bittersweet ending.

It's a masterpiece, even if it's rushed. But I have to agree, it would've be better if it wasn't rushed that badly.

Typical Jun Maeda work, he tries to add as much drama as possible towards the end, which is why it feels rushed. But even without the forced dramatic ending, Charlotte has quite an extensive story for a one cour anime. It would have done the anime good if it had just been a little less story-wise.

I said this when I finished this series almost a decade ago, that this show would've benefited from having 50 episodes, they have so much story to tell and develop but had to jam everything in 13 episodes. This show could've potentially be one of the better ones if it had more episodes.

That is mainly since the story turns a 180 in the later part giving an outrageous goal that seems like a joke. It is so tonally deaf it has most believe it is rushed. The memory loss at the end was so forced that it comes off as a bad joke. This comes from someone who liked the earlier part of the series.

The best thing about Charlotte is the character interactions. The final arc abandons that for dark superpower antics.

From what I saw online it was because they knew they wouldn't have a second season.

That was the complain since always.
Final episode could potentially be an entire arc by itself, but I guess there were time constraints and they had to conclude it here and there.

I always thought that any rushed animes probably were running out of budget. they tried to compress everything in the last 2 or 3 episodes. Thats why it felt rushed. same thing happened with Hajimete no Gal and Sankarea.

A sentiment most people still don't get is that, you can't please everybody. As you're here complaining for more of a series that actually has nothing more to give, someone else would be complained about the unnecessary stretch in the show giving how it could've been resolved in an episode or 2. It just is what it is, as viewers we just have to appreciate we got such an amazing story to begin with. I think the actual sentiment you wanted to inquire was, is that it? But I want more😭🌚.

12 more episodes at the very least and this could potentially become a very good anime. Even with the fast-paced ending of the last episode, Charlotte is already good enough, but it could've been so much better.

when jun maeda is given the budget to cook, he cooks. though Charlotte is a shorter series it isn't that bad comparatively though, its one of his better shorter series

i dont get the praise someone gotta expain to me cause for me it just wasn’t good. It had inconsistencies and the pacing was too fast for a short story and the start was alright like not my thing but i understood and then it just dropped off.

i wish this show was 26 episodes instead of 13, the story had so much potential but the second half feels so rushed.
