I recently watched this anime and loved it. And while we wait for the potential season 2 I was wondering if there are any more animes like this one in the way where the main character gets to try again in their life or do things differently. I've seen Re-Life and really enjoyed that too, I've head that Tokyo Revengers follows a similar idea but I'm not interested in watching that one due to all the gang wars and stuff it deals with. So are there any other anime that are similar to this one that would be worth watching. I'm also not looking to watching any Isekai as I'm not very fond of that genre of anime. Thank you

It’s a cliched one, and I was surprised that it wasn’t on your list, but you can watch ERASED (Boku Dake ga Inai Machi), since it involves traveling in time and the main hero trying to correct his mistakes from the past. As some people mentioned earlier, you can also watch Link Click (it’s a Chinese anime; though, you can look for a Japanese dub if you want) — it’s about going to the past by entering a photo. I would also recommend Summer Time Rendering, as it involves time traveling; however, in the case with Summer Time Rendering the hero doesn’t travel back to distant past — it all takes place within a several-day period. Also, some classic stuff like Steins;Gate or Madoka Magica also involve a lot of time traveling, especially the latter.

I've never seen Re-Life, so I can't comment on that. I have seen Erased, Steins;Gate and Puella Magi Madoka Magica, and none are similar at all to Bokutachi no Remake. This is a relatively happy and light anime, and while the other three might start that way, they change very dramatically.

Erased is about a boy who can turn back time by a few minutes to change something that has happened. Usually, he does it to prevent a tragedy or accident. He ends up trying to solve and prevent his own murder at the hands of a serial killer (if I remember correctly).

Steins;Gate starts off fun and very slowly. But it, too, turns into someone trying to prevent a murder. There is no "time travel" as it's normally depicted. Instead, the MC moves from one "world line" to another in an attempt to get to one where major conflict and tragedy doesn't happen. Think of it like coming to a crossroads, and you go left. When that doesn't work, you come back and go right. But instead of starting over at the fork, things on the right fork kept going when you went left before. When you jump into the timeline that is the right fork, you're jumping into an existing reality. You're not creating things new. Time kept moving on and a new "world line" was created with a new version of you. So you're stepping into that life with no knowledge of what is different and what has happened.

Puella Magi Madoka Magica is not about time travel at all. It is a true telling of what magical girls really are. At least in the second half. It starts off as something fun and mostly light. Then things turn very dark. There is some "time travel" involved, but it's nothing like Bokutachi. It's a necessary element that explains how the story ended up the way it did.

Now. All three of those are very good shows. Just keep in mind that they're not the lightheaded "going back in time to live my life again so I can change things to make it better" kind of shows. They're dark, tragic, and can be tough on the emotions. Especially Madoka.

Relife for sure. Sure it's a pill then a dream/time travel thing of Bokutachi but still close enough.

There was another show about filming I forget the name but that one would make sense to cover unless it was an episode about filming I'm thinking of more so.

Besides thinking of the camera man one for the MOE trilogy being https://myanimelist.net/anime/275/Love%E2%99%A5Love (it is ecchi but it's supposed to be to show how backwards the behind the scenes of their in universe show is, it's why their in universe show is well bad and people miss that context when they watch Cosprayers).

Masamune-kun I guess as he 180s his life (just not in a 'old to young' way) https://myanimelist.net/anime/33487/Masamune-kun_no_Revenge

I guess maybe Watashi ga Motete Dousunda as she is one way then changes, it is more a reverse harem though (girl's perspective) https://myanimelist.net/anime/32899/Watashi_ga_Motete_Dousunda

Eoneu Nal Jameseo Kkaeeoboni Bagelyeoga Doeeo Isseotda maybe as it's a gender bend in a way (kind of like the https://myanimelist.net/anime/32899/Watashi_ga_Motete_Dousunda but I think some transformation kind of thing) so a bit different then a simple time travel/life change of the normal sort https://myanimelist.net/anime/43779/Eoneu_Nal_Jameseo_Kkaeeoboni_Bagelyeoga_Doeeo_Isseotda

Another Gender Bend of Oniichan wa Oshimai! https://myanimelist.net/anime/51678/Oniichan_wa_Oshimai

There is manga I'd recommend of gender bend that had a good highschool girl and office worker guy that I really enjoyed the story with great situations between the two called https://myanimelist.net/manga/126321/Shachiku_to_Gal_ga_Irekawarimashite

Maybe photography type ones could work like Ano Natsu de Matteru (I need to watch this one more didn't think much of it at first)
https://myanimelist.net/anime/11433/Ano_Natsu_de_Matteru

or PhotoKano (yes it's a bit ecchi and the Amagami SS and each girl has her arc and it resets after a few episodes kind of format, but you can get by it isn't that deep into it just a minor detail to be aware of).

"Summer Time Render" is one of the most complete anime I've watched, as well as involving time traveling. (Kind of like re zero).

And if you are not looking for battles and death and stuff, but rather one that's more similar to "ReLife", I'd recommend you "Irozuku / Iroduku." Which is (at least for me) a hidden gem.

Plus, both have banger OPs.

If you liked the Arts College setting, mixed with Otaku culture and also the idea of meeting famous persons in their college years, I recommend a Dorama: Blue Blazes/ Aoi Honō / Blue Flame.

It's basically some guy retelling his college years while watching Hideaki Anno and other Gainax heavy hitters as rivals. Tottally worth your while.
