Honestly, i think this is canon to the main universe but they're seperate projects. It's hard to explain but bang dream and mygo/ave mujica are different projects in the exact same universe

i kinda think it's a side story more than anything since the main story involes popipa and the other bands and in mygo it was all of the bands as supporting characters than as the main cast

| Ave Mujica is a sequel to MyGo!!!!! because it will continue plot and character threads from the previous series. MyGo!!!!! isn't a sequel to earlier BanG Dream! anime because although it's set later in the timeline in the same universe, its story is basically independent from the earlier series. |

Kidani has stated in interviews that he wants BanG Dream to go on for decades and have different "generations" like Gundam or Pokemon. The Circle Thanks Party OVA is intended to wrap up gen 1, and the MyGo!!!!! anime is the start of gen 2.

I see what you mean. I haven't really followed Love Live, I only watched the original series a long time ago. I take it those characters never return?
| @alexrawk They come back, but mainly through collaborations, as far as I know. The peculiarity of Love Live is that each generation contains only 1-2 groups and strictly focuses only on them. |
