I've watched Deadman wonderland a long time ago, and a few weeks ago I decided to rewatch it with some friends.

Everything was fine until I got to the end of the anime, somehow the ending is not how I remember.

This is how I remember the ending:

Now, I look at the anime and there is no mention of anything like that.... the anime doesn't even have an ending. So I thought maybe I've seen a movie, but there are no movies that I can find....

Does anyone have any ideas if there are any unofficial adaptation of the anime that have an ending like that?

Maybe you dreamt that, I watched anime back on Toonami and that never happened. There was no unofficial ending, the only difference is that the manga and anime are completely different in a lot of ways.

Read the manga. There was no ending such as this.

im actually really confused as well. i watched on netflix a year or 2 ago and how i remembered it was

SPOILER (or not idrk lol)

so they formed a resistance and set on escaping the prison. gets stopped by flashy villan, some next guy walks in and kills a guy and dies himself. and something got revealed that made shiro and ginta hate each other and episode ended with them gonna fight. next episode just cut to them what seems post-fight l resolved and they're on a rooftop looking at a ferris wheel or something and it just ends there, skips years down the line to the perspective of some guy.

I genuinely don't know if this is true or not or if i somehow skipped an episode. but is this anything like the (anime) ending and should i rewatch it? because i gave it a 4 for such an (apparently) anti-climatic and boring ending.

The manga is the definitive story. The anime (although being greatly beloved) left out a lot of key elements that are critical to the overall narrative and ending. I suggest reading it if you want the complete story.

@Seiidou
I considered that and I am pretty sure that is not the case.

I never dream of anime... =)

I could have understood if I remembered some things wrongfully, that happened for some other older anime that I've rewatched. But in this case the whole ending is different... .

This was too long ago tho, I didn't even us MAL then and I was watching anime on different shady websites that had translations for my language.

I vaguely remember that the last episode was released after I watched the whole anime, which surprised me ( I remember being excited for the new episode, also a bit disappointed about how it ended, yet also a bit content that they at least added an ending for the anime ).

My theory is that it was an unofficial episode...
I searched for it but could not found it so IDK...

@Grandestmaster

What you remember did happen in the 12 episode.
I do recommend you mark that as a SPOILER using the spoiler tags.

Also, no I do not recommend rewatching it. My theory is that what I remember is an unofficial episode.

You can try and search for it, if you are interested. I did and can no longer find it.

well like i said

SPOILER

it started off with ginta and shiro on the rooftop talking. it was like they made up after the fight. i also remember a flashback of their/one of their childhood but that might have been another episode. but anyway after rooftop scene it just ended there and for the rest if the episode it skipped years and took the perspective of some guy, blonde tall middle aged I think he was part of some police force and this sounds like a stretch but used some claws? but it just ends there after talking about that guy in the future

yeah i genuinely don't know what happened. i feel like i watched another show or skipped and episode or something lol.

@Grandestmaster

You are talking about the ova, which happens before everything. You probably have seen it after the 12 episode.

@LordAdent Yes that the ova ant covers crows back story, I remember seeing that on the blu-ray and not on Toonami

@Grandestmaster They used the order in which the episodes were released.
The ova was released last so by that logic it is the last episode.
