You can find majority of the information on the wiki, but your 3rd statement is basically correct, it’s just and advanced ai system originally built help assist with Sybil, but ended up being used for its predictions and outcomes from real life consequences for profit. The group really just wanted to play Roundrobin (an underground gambling game) apart from the guy who helped eliminated it. I’m unsure correct me if I’m wrong that they had no other purpose other then attaining much profit as possible by any means necessary without any regard to human life.

Yeah, it only felt confusing because of the missing plotline gap from season 2 to 3, but the providence movie luckily filled that gap.

Yeah we're never gonna get that complexity feeling of season 1 again 😔 (please prove me wrong physco pass 4) want it to be an absolute phsycological mindfuck. Still loved season 3 and first inspector though. Let's hope season 4 fulfills the need

In my country, Providence comes out this Friday, so I reviewed everything, and even if I really like S3 and First Inspector, I must admit that Bifrost is rather vague but more than a band that takes advantage of a loophole in Sybil and that's a bit of a shame. But I can't wait to see Providence and I'm also hoping for a Season 4 that might even conclude Psycho-Pass definitively with a big old-fashioned season!

Season 3 sucks. It was so convoluted. I'm rewatching season 1 but then stopping it there. the rest of the seasons / movies are not the same quality.

To be honest the intro and outro music is only what kept me motivated to continue watching along with providence coming out at the time after season 1. Season was literally nearly a masterpiece (kinda felt a bit fleshed out in the end) in terms of rewatching yeah definitely only season 1 the rest I totally agree with you inferior quality unfortunately

All hopes with these massive time gaps, for an actual proper high quality final season at this point

To be sincere I would like a final season, there are still things to explain but the anime must end with a real end, so I would very much like a 4th and last season of about twenty episodes which comes to end Psycho-Pass.

Yeh whether they end after season 4 I have my doubts. They have now done 4 movies! Watching the Providence stream, it seems like the Japanese are big fans of Psycho Pass and they make a lot of money off of the merch so it's possible they will keep making movies etc.

ngl I kinda feel Season 1 is a bit over hyped, even though I'd agree it was (loosely) the "best season". If anything, all the other material AFTER season 1 (I feel) are more "Psycho pass" than S1. S1 was more about (again, over hyped) Kogami and Makishima, and less about the World of PsycoPass and Sybil.

Kogami isn't PsychoPass, he's just a character apart of it. Akane is much more PsychoPass than any character, and yeah even though Kogami is undebatably cool af, Akane be killing it throughout the show and has had greater developments.

To answer the post, I guess Bifrost was a lot of things: a gambling game for the rich to earn money, but I think it was originally "designed" that way, to influence and strengthen Sybil's development as a Program.

If Sibyl never made it as a player to the game, Sibyl still needed Bifrost's influence until it reached a certain level of progress deeming Bifrost obsolete.

I don't think you have Psycho Pass without Kogami though. The movies and especially season 3 were noticeably worse without Kogami even though it probably wouldn't have helped a tonne.
