| I never expected this Manga to near its finale with drama to progress the climax of their love now that Chiyo finally revealed why she forces her smiles. I was expecting and hoping for full on light hearted adorable progress of her slowly cracking and him realizing that she's hiding her adoration and lust for him out of embarassement for not wanting to make a weird face, of either drooling or grinning... which is why she forces a smile to stay composed. Instead, we had a lot of brief attracted females or brief love rivals, including this childhood friend princess who was escorted safely to her arranged marriage, which caused Soujirou to get injured, yet he slayed them all. Which was the cause for Chiyo to "properly" confess to him and reveal her secret. Meanwhile, he has yet to do his part of expressing his feelings, since they both regret not saying anything before he potentially died. This romcom was adorable and funny for the most part, but unfortunately with the little excess of brief love rivals, lackluster progress to them being candid, and resulting in that climax being in the finale after am accident, this Manga has been very disappointing. I would have preferred a longer and slower progress to them bonding intimately instead of mostly staying the same until a new love rival and drama of death occurs for the plot to finally reach its plot point. From 8/10, to now... 6-4/10. I'm imagining a 5/10, but that depends exactly how this Manga ends, along with how satisfying the finale is. |
