This feels just like modern anime except by a Chinese studio

I thought Donghua was supposed to be different from anime and way better, but this just feels like your average shonen except maybe even worse. What gives? I switched over to watching Donghua to escape the cesspool that is modern anime, not to be reminded of it.

Maybe not your type of humor but to compare it to a typical battle shonen misses the point entirely.

I think all three seasons are good. 

I agree that maybe you'd enjoy King's Avatar or maybe try Outcast.
