From what I’ve seen in the trailer It looks like 7-12. But they might cut some things out and not do 24 episodes again, you never know.

7-12 judging by the first trailer
This kinda confirms that each season will be 6 volume which is great

We’ll either have 24 or 26 episodes since it’s a 2 cour season.

I've read all the way up to  LN 14 and im half way throgh LN 15, and from the looks of the trailer and how the last season went it was 6 books per season, or 3 books for part 1 of season 1 and 3 books for part 2. the trailer showed story plots from LN 7- 12 so its safe to say that at least 6 books will be adapted and around 23 to 24 episodes in total. However season 1 did cut out  content from the LN such as other characters point of views, so it could be less episodes but still cover 6 books in total. Hope this helps :)

I think they will adapt until volume 11, i don't want to give any spoilers but for me it's easy to assume that considering that after that in volume 12 a new arc starts (from volume 7 to 11 there are 2 arcs to adapt so I wish they don't skip anything lol)

It has 26 volumes, and it's only been officially translated to English up until volume 22 so far.

A lot of teases of Vol 12 were shown in the original trailer for Season 2 so this season will definitely adapt 7-12. If it's split cour like season 1, this Summer cour should adapt 7-9 and 10-12 should be adapted later.

I personally bought all my hard copies of the LN from either amazon or barnes and nobles. So far ive bought alll the way up to LN 22 which has been released in English. I know from amzaon you can also buy digital copies of the books and they tend to release in English earlier than the physical copies of the LN. However im sure if you look online for digital copies of mushoku tensei you might be able to find some digital downloads of the books. Hopes this helps :)

I first watched the show before I decided reading the series. When I started reading the LN I considered skipping the first 6 books because those were already adapted into the show and i already knew what happen. I decided to start reading the LN from the beginning and i honestly think it was very wroth it, even though I new what the story and the plot was about. Considering what wasn't adapted from the books to the show, were mainly just more details building up characters and more of the backstory behind them and  better world building and really nice flow for how the story goes. Also There are differnet point of views of characters that bring more backstory and knowledge about them. After reading all the books that will be adapted into season 2, I definitely think its worth reading the LN and getting a better understanding of the people and the world developed throughout it and to understand the pacing and details of the story.

No chance this season goes to 14, trailer showed stuff from vol 7 till 12 so that's what is gonna be adapted (like how season 1's original trailer showcased stuff from vol 1-6, which is what the anime adapted). If there's a season 3 later on, 14 will be done there.

Hope we don’t spend too much time on the academy. Seems so utterly boring and a bizarre shift in pace. Would love them to sub that out with what everyone else is up to.

I think it's needed though for sure and actually think this is a great add. It's a change in pace that is needed for the story, and builds characters and relationships throughout that will benefit the story in the long run when more intense stuff does happen down the line. I'm a guy that generally doesn't care for slice of life, but the stuff from here made me like the series much more in the long run because of it, even if it might feel slow initially. It's also much needed for Rudeus' character in my opinion to have this kind of arc ongoing, although I don't want to get into too much details here for spoilers.

Only thing that kind of sucks related to this portion for me is the manga because of how abysmal the release schedule for it is to match the slow arc, plus they don't adapt the light novel moments properly. Regarding the light novels though, have no issues personally with this portion.

The manga adaptation is just shit. The academy arc is a an arc that sets up many things for the future arcs. It was a important time for Rudeus's life.

There are 26 light novel volumes. 26 released in November last year in Japan. English translation for it should be there hopefully by next year.

Really, really hoping you're right. It might be monumental but if the execution is as poor as it is in the manga, it'll be a grind. Studio and plot has earned some trust though.

Just re-read some parts of the LN. While I do think that S2P1 will adapt until the end of V9, IMO it would be best if they end S2P1 at V10C1.

Last episode 6 covered the light novel volume 8 until chapter 6. So you could start from volume 8, chapter 7. Have fun.
