| For me, Lucky Star is a slice of life icon, but MAL's definition says that a comedy can't be a slice of life, Lucky Star can't be a slice of life anime. Some people might say that "Lucky Star is tagged as a CGDCT anime, and CGDCT is a subgenre of slice of life. Therefore, it's fine. There's no need to double tag it." However, I don't see that being MAL's reasoning since Lucky Star directly breaks MAL's definition for slice of life, and there are plenty of examples of "double tagging", like Yuru Camp and Non Non Biyori. I doubt that MAL considers CGDCT to be a subgenre of slice of life. However, that's just my opinion. Do you think that Lucky Star is a slice of life anime? |

Yeah, MAL's definition does say SoL anime can have jokes and stuff, but it does say, "Slice of Life is incompatible with Comedy, Drama, and Romance by definition." So, a comedy can't be a slice of life, according to them. |
