I'm talking about the database entry on the website. Why split it yet for another anime, why couldn't they just add an additional release date on the Second season entry for when the rest of the episodes just come out. Just look at jojo part 6, it's split into 3 entries on MAL, when there's barely any change except for release dates. Leave it at 1 entry and which has all the episodes in one place. |

| Per the MAL Anime Database Guidelines: II.3.1 If a TV series is split into two parts and at least one season (~12 weeks) falls between the last episode of the first part and the first episode of the second part, the second part will be treated as a second season and the anime will have two entries. This is done to organize currently airing series that have large gaps between seasons so entries are not left as currently airing for months on users' lists (e.g. White Album, Asura Cryin). Thus, if a similar gap occurred with a series that has already finished airing, that entry will not be split now (e.g. Cardcaptor Sakura, Big O). |

It would be correct but look at Mistfit at demon academy and Nier automata., they have been delayed without any announcement of when they will return. It's just an inconsistent rule that was brought up back in the days when studios didn't go on breaks so often, be it production issues or the pandemic like it is now and just went forward even though the episode would turn out bad, especially action shonens. |
| I think there shouldn't have been any split, but whatever. Consistency in listing ONAs has been funny for a while, so one shows are divided into parts, and some aren't (even if a break between episodes is shorter in their case, vide Knights of the Zodiac: Saint Seiya by Netflix). |

| I agree. Breaking a season into parts and more entries is unnecessary. I always prefer complete seasons along with others like movies, OVA, spin-off, etc. it makes researching a show easier this way. |

| @thepath Agreed, but it can't be helped. Record of Ragnarok S2 is another example of weird decisions regarding new entries, resulting in inconsistencies in the anime database. On one hand you can hear quite often how the official listing is important when creating an entry which, in example, splits season into two. But you also have wacky situations like this one. This season is treated as one on Netflix and it ain't listed as two separate seasons or parts or whatever. Few months break between the releases of each batch of episodes shouldn't be even anything decisive here, that'd justify such treatment of this season. It looks even more ridiculous when you check out Attack on Titan: The Final Season - Kanketsu-hen. Way longer break, separate listing on official sources of each special episode (minimovie format), but nah, no split was done to it. |
