I created threads for ch. 1 and ch. 2 a few days ago, but due to Emergency Maintenance from May 10-12, 2023's consequences and the fact I wrote them shortly before it, they couldn't be restored. But hey, why not try to recreate them? ;)

The whole premise is really interesting. Poseidon awakening to face a new, powerful threat - Nemesis. Her design is already great, same as the idea of her appearing right during Athena and Bronzies' were still in the Underworld, but after defeating Hades.

I absolutely love how well Tsunakan Suda emulates good old Masami Kurumada's art style. It makes this manga feel quite nostalgic, even though it's a brand new story set in the Saint Seiya universe. That's the magic of oldschool art style, I guess. Seeing both old and new characters drawn in it is really fun.

What I disliked about this chapter? Well, I didn't like that much the revelation about how Hades' soul wasn't utterly destroyed by Athena back in the Elysium. I am aware that from the consistency's point of view it was nothing controversial. After all, at least from what I heard, Taizen Encyclopedia has one fragment dedicated to deities' demise, explaining how their soul can't be totally destroyed. That's why for the sake of lore's consistency, Rerise of Poseidon did a good job. It's just... I'm personally a fan of the opposite concept, I mean the idea of godlike entities' soul being capable of getting destroyed under certain circumstances.

Julian is back! The Poseidon arc was never my favorite in the original series, but this series might just change that, we'll have to see!
