How is it not renewed yet?

I understand that with some animes if they're not very successful or weren't welcomed by the people they don't get renewed. 86 however was great, popular and successful plus there's more material to be covered so how is it debatable wether or not it should be renewed by the people in charge?

More like A-1 already has far too many projects to handle or just finished up with. We will get 86 s2(I need the copium), but mostly not anytime soon. Maybe next year or in 2025.

patiently waiting for the S2 ❤️
at first i dropped it without deeply following the story but good god i was wrong and it turned out soo good that i listen to "voices of the chord" like everyday and even started jamming on the guitar 😙

Is there even enough source material for a season 2 currently? I don’t see how A-1 wouldn’t pick it back up in the future given it’s success. I’m leaning towards combination of source material, too many projects at once as to why there’s not a s2 yet.

Well sometimes it takes three years between seasons and usually not announced until a year out from release or so. I imagine if there will be a season 2 we would hear about it within the next calendar year.

Bro there is source material for even a 3rd season actually and a possible 4th season
The problem is the they are handling many projects right now like Kaguya sama and solo leveling

source material isn't the issue, there's 11 LN volumes and only 3 have been adapted in anime form. It's mainly an A-1 production issue standpoint. They had to delay quite a few projects (nier automata keeps getting broadcast delays, solo levelling delayed to next year)

I imagine it might be because of the delay in getting the last season's episodes out. Having to push back deadlines can be very costly. Of course there's no reason season 3 would have delays, but you never know.
I would definitely rather have another season of 86 than Rent a Girlfriend....

There's so many projects going on with all the studios right now. It sometimes take 2-4yrs before another season comes out.

Overlord, Re:Zero, are two that come to mind...

It'll get another season, there's some wicked plot twists and dark reckonings coming too.
