Like with Ore Tsushima, where you had a 12 episode TV one, and then 90+ shorts on the Youtube channel. Still smacks of the issue where Japanese productions tend to still have a gatekeeping situation where outsiders are just ignored, especially with short form stuff I don't think it's a matter of Japan gatekeeping short anime so much as nearly every time a licensor picks up a short anime, Western fans clap back with low ratings because "too short". ^^; Like, I'm frustrated by the lack of localized short series too, but English-speaking anime fans are generally unkind towards shorts in my experience. |
