Couldn't tetsuo flush the remaining flesh in his own house rather than decomposing and then burying it? Am I missing something feel free to Correct me or did mangaka make a mistake at this point?

This gets explained in the manga. Tetsuo does end up flushing a good bit of the flesh in the toilet.

Basically, boil the body to make dismemberment easier. Also the fat and collagen gets drained in the tub. Also to minimize the weight of the body.

He can only flush 500g of flesh (twice the amount of a person's feces) in the toilet at a time. Otherwise, the toilet would clog. In order to dispose of 50kg of flesh in the toilet, Tetsuo would have to flush 100 times. The amount of water this would take is 600 liters. This would raise suspicions to the landlord or the water supplier. Thus, Tetsuo gave up and brought back 20kg of flesh.

So keep that in mind next time you need to hide a body lmao.

thats all fine, but the OP was asking, couldn't Tetsuo flush the remaining 20kg meat at his house?

Well, the answer for that is, obviously not. His Daughter is staying in the house, him flushing meat in the toilet will make it more suspicious, and no matter how much of an airhead, Reika is, she'll probably understand her parents are hiding something from her. Well, disposing the meat through decomposition is way better than flushing 500g of flesh 40 times in the bathroom. So, its not a plothole, its just better understanding of the situation and planning it better.

Not applicable in the show but I live in an apartment and the water bill is shared among all the residents. I don't think anyone will find out if I flushed 100 times.

I heard the anime skipped a whole chapter. I'm assuming all of this was shown in that skipped chapter so it's not really spoilers. I might be wrong though

The whole thing is ridiculous from start to finish.

He is boiling a body in a bathtub for hours and thinks that cardboard with foil  would "insulate" the tub? Someone didn't pay attention in school. Mangaka in this case. Temperature wouldn't go higher than 100 degrees Celsius, insulation wouldn't make any difference for the tub.

It would have the same temperature as water in a matter of minutes and start heating the room and the building. In about half an hour neighbors would start knocking at the door. Boiling a corpse would take many hours. Amount of moisture evaporated, smell, temperature - it is like sauna in apartment with some meat thrown in. There is no way to have a bathtub sized boiling pot in a bath without people noticing.

80 kg body magically shrank to 20 kg after boiling. Pure idiocy. 80 kg of boiled meat weight roughly the same 80 kg. Bones alone for the guy he killed would weight about 12 kg, boiled or not. Clothes are light, but they don't magically lose weight and volume when boiled.

Meat shrink when boiled, if you don't believe me just do a simple Google search, plus he probably chopped it into small chunks, and not boiling the entire thing as it is, I don't think any writer will write stuff up without doing some proper research, you were wrong on this one, plus there are some chemical stuff that exist which helps in dissolving the flesh into liquid within few hours, have been in practice for a long time, mostly done by Mexican drug cartels, you can learn more about this if you watch documentaries on YouTube.

Re; Okay so i just went back and watched some parts of the second episode and I think they explained it kinda well like the bathtub is made out of FRP fibre reinforced plastic, he wrapped the cardboard with 'aluminium foil' which can withstand a temperature of upto 600+°c, also he(father) said like he did multiple layering, and i think he used flue tape which can withstand temperature upto 300+°c, whereas the required temperature for shrinking meat by cooking/boiling generally starts from 50°c, he the father repeated the cooking/boiling process multiple times, & so on...
