Great news. But also kinda sad for the fans who are following the fan translations as it will discontinue and now they'll have to wait several years for the official translations to catch up to the recent volumes being released in Japan.

@AngelofFrost It will not happen, you just need to know where to look. And I hate when this happens and some translation stops, there is nothing worse to kill the flow than having to wait years to see the next part, so it's great to see it continuing.

People that don't want to pay to read, will find a way to keep doing so, with the official volumes, so halting the translation only kills it for me.
People that have chosen to read the translation and are way ahead with it versus the official, will now have the option to support the official work if they want and check on how that fancies itself in comparison to the fan-translated bits.

Stopping fan translations only hurts the fans themselves and gets more people OUT of reading it, thank god it did not happen with this series.
What irks me though is that if one wants to support the original author as much as possible, the only way to do so is to get the official Japanese volumes, because the cut the middleman gets for these official translated works is just too big IMO.

It is really hard especially for LN authors, I would not take it badly if some started doing Patreon work for international fans and provide some extra bonus there, would be a way to directly support them, while also having these writters be in contact with a more international audience.

Exclusively to this series, due to the youtube channel, that might be way less of a necessity thought.

This is classic piracy defense....

The "middleman" in question is literally owned by the original publisher themselves (Kadokawa)...
And even if the mdiddleman takes a cut, WHAT'S THE PROBLEM?
I sure do hope Yen Press is profitable, because I want to support the overseas LN industry, which is not that big compared to manga, and if the "middleman" taking a cut means more light novels are getting licensed (including those that never got a fan-translation) then I'm more than happy to give the "middleman" my money.

I don't care about a company, sorry not possible. It is much easier to connect with the creators and if you likes something to the point of wanting to support it, it should be a given you would want the creator to get proper recognition and be rewarded for creating it.

When this doesn't happen, and the middle man is making almost all the money, and cutting the creator short... yes, FUCK THE MIDDLEMAN.

Without the middleman, the creator wouldn't be making any money at all.
Who is gonna publish their books overseas? Themselves?
How about the translator who worked on the project, do they not deserve to get paid?

Saying only the original creators deserves the money from that book when many other people were also involved in publishing it overseas is really stupid.
Pirates always seem to forget that the middleman does a lot more than just "taking almost all the money"

@MadanielFL You have what I wrote in front of you with the reply and you still refuse to understand what I said.
WHEN "the middle man is making almost all the money, and cutting the creator short... yes, FUCK THE MIDDLEMAN." enough?

How exactly are they cutting the creator short? What data you have?
Also you ignore what I said.
Without the middleman, the creator wouldn't be making any money from overseas fans.
So even if they are cutting them "short", it's still wayyy more than receiving $0
