I started reading the Manhua back when I was like 19 - 20. I enjoyed it at first thinking it was cute, the art style is very appealing, and I did root for Annisa and Young Duke of Langrange to be together. I've moved on to other better stories, one particular story called This Isekai Maid wants to start a Union, I've learned that a lot of the troupes in Isekai can be pretty insane.
My issues with this Manhua:
- Dietrich is very possessive of Anissa
After coming back to see why I stopped reading, I've noticed just how possessive Dietrich is. He can't stand Annisa being around other men, gets very controlling of where she goes, bans marriage, and all around being a freaking obstacle when she's trying to help him. It's just nasty to me that the Author is trying to paint the two as a healthy functioning couple when they are not.
- The Elucids are neglectful and awful
As someone who has terrible family issues, I related to Anissa but I still feel very uncomfortable. Herman fails to understand why Anissa refuses to come back even when she explains and makes it very clear to him. It's personally a very annoying plot point for me and I honestly wish the Author would drop it.
- Siblings to Lovers?! EW!
This doesn't need to be long written. Their relationship didn't have to be romantic. Sure, they are not related by blood, but it just feels wrong for them to fall in love romantically. Can it not be romantic and be platonic instead? I was more invested in her being such a good little sister to him even though he is uncomfortably possessive.
Other issues I have are mostly minor, like Charlotte for example. That girl is very self-righteous and full of herself. Thankfully Anissa pretty much calls her out for it, but still.Over all, this story did have potential, but my three major points stand as to why I am dropping this Manhua. I had fun reading it, yet right now, it has some serious issues, more so with the Male Lead. These Isekai stories 8-9/10 have terrible Male Leads that are too toxic and problematic for the Female Leads. Sometimes it's the Female Lead or both, either way, I am finished with subjecting myself to that.If you wanna give the Manhua a read, be my guest, I will not stop anyone from enjoying what it has to offer.
