A manga which captures the harsh realities of life and how humans navigate through emotional hardship and despair.
"A masterpiece".
In all honesty though, it would be interesting to see this manga adapted through a different medium, such as an anime adaptation.
For starters, our story's protagonist is a teacher of ethics, referred to as Takayanagi-sensei by his students.
His code of ethics and sense of morality are drawn by his own unique experiences, much like everyone else roaming this planet.
However, Takayanagi-sensei draws attention to himself, through the lenses of his troubled students and the reader's.
Whether it be his strange sense of humour or the weird smoking habit he picked up from his professor, the story's countless personas stand to invest their time and emotion into his carefully constructed character.
The purpose of this manga, much like life, is ambiguous. The enjoyment is very much limited to the interpratory ability and resourcefulness of the reader.
Finding a philosophical principle which deeply resonates with you and adapting it to your circumstances is how you can free yourself from the shackles of resentment.
We as the reader have a duty when consuming this piece of fiction, to make strides in becoming a stronger person, one which others can rely on.
That is the foundational concept of Takayanagi-sensei. He empowers, educates and fundamentally changes his students as to prepare them for life outside of a school setting.

I believe it is normal for teenagers in school settings to be devoid of mental sanity.
It is, I must say, bang on when framing the complexities of finding clarification in ones' self-worth.
Give it a quick read as it's pretty interesting, being around the 30 chapter mark while making this, it should suffice for an enjoyable past-time.
An accurate representation of the teacher-student dynamic and the role-model we wish we had.
Contrary to the many assumptions made about his character, he is kind, gentle and warm-hearted. Not the overbearing kind. He draws value from even the most broken and emotional devoid creatures.
Encompassing an altruistic attitude, embracing his students' deepest secrets with a deeply rooted compassion.
There are many stakeholders within the bounds of human experience which like to heavily invest in their masks.
Throughout our lives, society has conditioned us to put on masks, fragments of oneself.
We refine, cultivate and make our masks distinguishable, hoping to stand out from the crowd, in hopes of one day receiving the cheques of validity from others.
Amongst all the emotional and social turmoil, Takayangai-sensei manages to creates a postive atmosphere for his students.
