Yeah... It's a shame how it's great from the first two seasons until the third where these new plots of drama and extraordinary concepts are no longer more relatable to average lifestyle people after they turn Retsuko into an idol, to then making Haida successfully winning over Retsuko to become a couple become so damn awkward in development...
It's frustrating how weird and flawed they made this story after they tried to progress his romance.
I just finished rewatching it all yesterday but I can't even think properly on how to explain the flaws.
It's difficult to accept how he's hopelessly interested in Retsuko over Inui, and how desperate he was for self-esteem to do illegal accounting.
In the end, it's all an intriguing and entertaining journey as a story overall, but a fair amount of plots and these last two seasons aren't as great like how the first two were grounded, even if they're more epic.
I've been a Haida supporter since the beginning and watched every season now at least twice. The first, now four... and now I question this pairing.
Logically Haida seems more fitting with Inui, because she cared for him since the start,
while Retsuko never saw him romantically before oddly trying after he saved her.
I don't know, it's an awkward unrequited love gets noticed story.
It's interesting and I'm enjoying while trying to accept it for what it is, but yeah, it's been a bit of a mess since season three. |
