| so i see people here crying this movie sucks ass and boring but when i see their favorites then again they are pretty generic.. imo this movie is excellent!! the way it tries to represents the interesting ideas, different scenario and present them on screen which isn't easy considering this movie is of 1980's time. i think characters and plot could have been much more complex but it is what it is. overall pretty close to being masterpiece. 9/10 |

| Lol, did the author have something against Tetsuo's girl or what? Poor girl's screen-time only consisted in having her getting beaten, sexually assaulted and killed off in the most grotesque way possible. Anyways, pretty good movie overall. A visual masterpiece without a doubt but it's also true that it has its flaws in the writing department such as Kei's character being reduced to a mere love interest for Kaneda and the origin of Tetsuo's powers being poorly explained. But that said, story was so engaging, visuals so stunning and OST so immersive that one can easily overlook those aspects and some others while watching such impressive piece of media. 8/10 |
| Akira, one of the biggest anime movies of our time and one of the first anime movies I ever saw as a teenager and probably one of the first non Ghibli films for me. This is a film where it’s glory, violent and has a lot of body horror in it, amazing soundtrack and beautiful looking visuals. It was just so fast paced from start to finish, the dystopian future setting is so vibrant and appropriately desolate for what they were going for at the time. Kaneda, Tetsuo and the rest of the cast were fantastic as well. Though that being said, it can be confusing for somebody who hasn’t seen it before especially towards the end and it is a film that will probably need a couple of rewatches to understand what’s going on but given the fact that I haven’t seen this when I was either 14 or 15, I actually did well on that front. It’s once again beautiful visually speaking, pretty much wasn’t a film like it back then and I can see why it made it’s mark on the western world. And for that, it gets a 9/10 from me. |
| The plot made no sense. I had to read supplementary info to understand what happened at the end. Dull and boring characters with 0 personality. The only thing that saves it is the atmosphere and animation. Overall 8/10 for the 80s cyberpunk, animation and historical impact. |

| I really did not like this movie lol I can't help but feel like it might be just slightly overhyped. The plot just felt like a mess, and while the animation is pretty cool at times, I'm not really a fan of it. I know it was pretty big back when it came out since it would've been really new and unlike anything out at the time, but I really just didn't like this. By the end I just wanted the movie to end already :( |

| Well that was a movie. Honestly, if I hadn't read the manga first, I definitely wouldn't have liked this movie at all. I mean the manga isn't even that good and for the first hour and a half of this movie, I actually thought it was better than the manga. The ending wasn't too bad but honestly, this series gets so much hype and love you'd think there'd be more to it than just fluid animation and a cool setting. |
| A story of friendship, grudges and why the military shouldn't try that create gods. My favorite part was the corrupt council having more evidence of corruption then they could get rid of, it all not even being able to fit into a suitcase! That was funny. Totally sucks how poor Kaori got undeservedly brutalized twice in this movie. How unlucky it all was for her.... |

| This currently has a seven, but if ghost got an eight, this most likely is at least that as well . Tokyo is gone in the year 1988. 2019 neo-Tokyo. The doors are an option. 2 Wheel Dr. Same honestly. One of the best city scenes you’re ever gonna find. The bikers bomb a strangers car. Maybe the best backgrounds. The classic slide. War. Protests. He needs to escape. His screen shatters all local windows and some local buildings. He vanished. The chapter is finished. Gassing them. Clouds concealing the bridge. They are surrounded by helicopters. The one in the orb declare he cannot run. He claims they aren’t meant to exist in the outside world. A bunch of bike punks. He has taken. The city is next to the crater of its past. The Olympics. They conclude they are not the perpetrators. The police and the army are now working together. To the revolution. She is with him now. They said this situation up in an amphitheater. Why don’t we get lost and have a few laughs. Haha. Sit down and talk about the revolution and all that stuff. She disappears in an explosion goes off in the stadium. They don’t teach tact at the academy. One hell of a medical exam. They replicated his aura. If there is no resemblance to anything they’ve ever seen. They begin comparison to the Accura pattern. Only a projection based on their collective data. It might be a clue towards unraveling the mystery. There needs to be assurance that they can control at this time. They can’t turn back from the ultimate frontier. Mythicals. A an emergency. Her conversation echoes the halls. He runs all the way to the school, I guess. He wants to run away with her. The farther the better. He takes his bike. rump? The only uncovered area is the industrial complex. Come on why do we have to have this? No. I simply do not want to look at something like this. There will come a day where he will show all of them. The classic bell. Glimpses of the future I imagine. He claims he is not Akira and then falls through the ground and then dies on top of the ground. He is under surveillance. Another tooth. A fountain in the middle of the sky bridge. Another explosion. There she is. She takes the secret elevator to a lower area. He follows her all the way down. I guess the terrorist is traumatized. The machine access is memories of some kind. It reads his ancient chalk scribbles. The buildings rise and crumble behind him along with his world. The machine is constant encrypted tape. Akira came to visit once again. The soldier follows his orders. They descend adorning their Arctic clothes. On the threshold of a new form of human evolution. The frozen door is opened. Akira the ultimate scientific nightmare. The politicians are daring to attempt to fate again. What’s wrong with trying to save a friend? A river on the 30th story. They will wait for the wind. They are chanting. They are painting with red paint. Their gathering is prohibited. I ain’t gonna trust nothing someone with that mustache says obviously. They have every indication God is about to rise. It will take another disaster for the old folks to be convinced. They are turning a revolution into a religion. He writhes in the square of the biggest building. Toys cover his floor. They sneak in. The toys come alive. And come to play. They are assembling together. And breaking containment while leaking and morphing. The wall becomes blocks and falls apart. The floor becomes liquid. The monsters are scared of him. Or what he has inside of him. They were the three but was it real. He destroys them. He acquires one of their machines. He creates a sphere around him. He can hack into the next room as well. Just using his mind. He makes it to the playground. They both have these powers. He feels like he could take on the world. She is speaking through her. They are warping the worlds around them. They have done something to his brain. Someone has a greater power than him. They want to be reunited with Akira. The whole place is crumbling. The tables are turned on him. Underneath the Olympic stadium. He falls from the building. He flew away. He talks about secrets two secrets in front of strangers. It was you. This is solid nine behavior so far. He has got to be caught before the power is unleashed. We are both code, red and purple now. They are revoking him from the army of the metropolis. A military coup. He takes charge and issues the arrest of all his opponents. Back to the bar where it all began. I guess he didn’t want to pay. Dun dun. Pure energy. Humans achieve a lot like discovering and creating things. Each life form must have its own energy if you think about it. Perhaps the life energy in space dust. If they could reach back before the beginning of time. Perhaps everything has that memory. What if an ambo was given the power of a human being. This time that energy will be there. The door is open. Tanks down the city streets. They have been together all their lives. He crashes the bike. They are walking on the water. And they disappear. The power of Akira exist in everyone. The latest edition to their family. He is too busy stuffing his riches. Tanks are causing a traffic jam. Let’s roll them. Attack. He acquires a red cape. The tank is destroyed. The one the greedy shot makes it farther. The news is censored. Protesters and religious fanatics have joined. Chatting for the same name. They are firing lasers. The bridge is broken. He is descending. She arrives with a warning. A crowd is gathering to watch the commotion. It is rising and awakening. Akira. Its power is colliding down the robotic sphere. It is falling apart it is continuing. The core he opens it. The final result. They were interested to future generations. Akira has been dead all along. He studies each of the containers. He’s back. Now he is king of the garbage mountain. Blasted blaster. He growling in anger. They are firing satellite lasers. Even outer space is not safe from his wrath. The solsir. He will lose his arm back into existence using what’s here. His power has reached his peak. The future is not a straight line. It is filled with many crossroads. A future they can choose for themselves. Unknown molecules are being abstracted. It’s getting closer to a sphere. What’s a bike or two? She remains at the stadium. The throne and the containers of gods. The Colonel is headed in. His artificial hand begins to combine with the throne. The drugs are wearing off and he won’t be able to control his power. He is combining and eating his attack. His bike is faster than his powers. They are on his side. He is evolving out of control. Asking for help. He consumes them. He is expanding. He escapes. Akira is open. And its light is unleashed. Thelight devolves. Oh for one. Fantastic. It was too difficult for him. He has already begun. There is no scientific explanation for what is happening. Like a cosmic rebirth. It disappeared. And so I see. She lives in echoes across this new wasteland. A single soul descends into his palms. And a friend is lost. He hurt her. They are gone. Perhaps he has evolved into something else. Spotlights over what remains of the city. Someday we will be it has already begun. Eye am. Solid nine definitely not a seven. I’m certainly the only reason it got right so low was because of the time period. It was watched. The same as ghost. |
