Bro why you so angry with Rudeus? And he wouldn't expose Rudijerd's identity like that. Don't you understand him? He was going to flood the city and kill everyone in it. Don't underestimate him. Rudeus wants to avoid being a person who kills just cause it's necessary. But at that time, he didn't have any other options. If i remember correctly, even in the novel, he was willing ro flood the city. He considered all of his options and when he couldn't find a right option, he decided to kill everyone in the city. Rudeus is scared, sure, but that doesn't mean that he isn't prepared to kill. He has killed many people without batting an eye. Watch the whole series before saying stuff like this.

He is scared of seeing death, sure, but you'd be too. That's what makes him human. I bet you won't even last as long as Rudeus lasted in a life or death battle. His fears are justified.

He was prepared to flood the city. He is a water saint magician and his strongest spell at that time was Cumulonimbus. He was building up the spell when Ruijerd noticed how much serious Rudeus was about this. So, he washed the color off his hair and revealed his identity.

When he said he is ready to betray Ruijerd, he meant to go against Ruijerd's path of warrior. When he destroys a city, he'll also be killing the innocents including the women and children. It's not a good thing to kill people who are not involved.

I actually quite liked the manga when it came out like 7 years ago but now that I'm revisiting it it just doesn't seem to make sense, even if he was willing to flood the city, why was that the decision he judged necessary instead of just killing the 1 maybe up to 3 people involved in the scheme, why was it that he decided he needed to kill thousands more for minimal gain. It doesn't look so good if you put it this way does it.

As sad it is you get desensitized to violence especially in an environment outlined in the story and well if I've seen as much violence as he had, I may very well be desensitised too. I'm just chattin shit on the internet now but like of course I wouldn't last as long, I haven't been exposed to it while he's definitely gotten eased into the whole idea of killing and surviving.

Flooding the city would have been the best option in the situation.

If you're still asking how is gonna do that; it's simply because redeus has a mana pool so large he could make a normal beginner spell as strong as an advanced spell. So the weather changing spell (even though with normal circumstances - roxy - it is really strong), not only can it flood the city, it can do a really big damage to the city.

Why can't he just kill the dudes involved you say? Well as far as the adventurers guild knows, those guys are clean. So killing them would result in putting a bounty over the dead end party's heads. Now they already have quite the hard time surviving in the demon continent, having to keep escaping from bounty hunters would just add fuel to the fire. Not to mention that the guild is possibly the only source of income for the trio.

So no. Rudeus isn't dumb, he can be ignorant at times, but definitely not dumb as you are.

Crazy how people defend this. He could have just killed horse men and other obstacles in thier sleep. Give the money and take it after.
