it's not the best, but it's a sweet, cute, wholesome anime. At least, that's what I think. KyoAni makes the cutest characters like Rikka, Kanna, Mirai, and Shoko.

I just watched it for the first time earlier this year. Nothing about it seemed out dated as far as I can remember. It was a good watch even when compared to the countless shows like it released in recent years.

In my opinion chuunibyou was the best romantic comedy anime I've watched. Very exciting season 1 finale.

Watched it few months ago and it was really good, my first ever slice of life romance anime that I watched in sub rather than dub

The series was cute, romantic tension was genuine and the characters chemistry was definitely lovely

There may be better shows than it but still I consider it one of the top tier romance + slice of life anime

Regarding the direction, art style and animation is aged wonderfully! For the rest like story and characters I think it's still fine, I only started watching the series half year ago but 10 years isn't enough to say it aged poorly!

All Kyoto Animations animes age well

I wouldn't agree with that regarding Lucky☆Star

Aged painstakingly well for me. Even if I couldn't really relate to what the characters experienced it was an emotional rollercoaster of a show for me personally.

the first time i was watching this, it was during my junior high school years. just finished a rewatch, and among finishing the final episode, i felt that it is still very relevant to my current situation, impacting how i regard people and my past life experiences.
there are many things and dialogues that i really dont understand when watching this show before. upon this rewatch, everything just hit so hard on me. really this is a wonderful show, and certainly it aged well.
even to some the modern anime art standards, the visuals are still stunning and the bgm is tasteful. the op and ed also felt quite nostalgic in terms of musical style.

This is for both seasons, all OVA/special episodes, and the final concluding movie, as I just finished rewatching the whole franchise:

Chunn season 1 and concluding movie = is one of the greatest rom-coms ever made (well, romcom with drama sprinkled in it, so its not fully a romcom).  It has amazing directing of each episode (especially season 1), great progress, and a nice conclusion with the movie.   Every character is lovely, so no complaints. All the girls are beauties.

Only "negative" is that even though the male MC is fun to follow around, I dont see myself adding him to my favorite characters list (I just cant explain it, like something was missing.. If I had to guess, im not really a fan of moe-looking male characters in romance).  But still, hes a cool dude to follow around.

As for season 2, I do wish for more drama, that he would have noticed Sophia's feelings for him on season 2.  Because even though I love season 1 and the concluding movie, season 2 was just meh, turning into a silly anime with no nuance to it. Sophia was the only thing that made me keep watching season 2, and even those scenes with Sophia in season 2 were few.   Season 2 honestly just felt like a bunch of OVA/special episodes, and not a new season.

Because Sophia was such a cutie as well, I do wish that she was in season 1 as well, with her own drama, competing for the male MC as well.

With all that said, Chunn franchise (especially season 1) is amazing and it stands the test of time.
