I’m 2 episodes into the second season and can already tell the animation and art are worse than the first season. Studio Lerche does not seem to care about this show anymore and it’s showing. I’m wondering if I should just read the LN because it is better than the anime or does it not matter whether I read or watch it because the experience is the same?

Lol brother the difference in experience of watching the anime and reading the novel was night and day, it’s highly recommended you read the novel. They also changed a couple of scenes and straight up didn’t adapt many things, although the latter is quite common in an adaptation. In short, READ THE NOVEL. But I still watch the anime for scenes like the fight scene, a lot cooler to visually see rather than read.

Nope, the experience of both isn't the same. They both are entertaining, but quite at different level, like LN is definitely better. So, start reading LN only if you are interested in the series, and at least from Vol 1 or Vol 4. Reading some monologues would be a good way to know and get a deeper feel of the characters.

Should I start reading from the beginning or from the start of season 2?

contrary to what ppl will tell you s1 was a pretty good adaptation so you could start from vol 4 completely fine. but it’s definitely good just to start from the beginning to get used to how kiyo narrates the story because it’s definitely not typical

Season 1 was a good adaptation but I still recommend you start from the beginning for the full experience. This is one of the best series around and believe me you’ll be disappointed if you don’t hop in for the full ride.

Both are kinda their own experiences. If you want to watch the story unfold in its own way, watch the anime. If you want greater depth to that said story and told in one of the greatest way’s ever, read the LN. Just don’t get the manga. Its ass

You should read from start to get a good idea of story as they didn't adapt a lot from ln !!!

I would definitely recommend reading the LN because it goes more in depth, but also you understand things that happen in the anime better. Also the illustrations are gorgeous
