Here's just a little place where you can brag about how much of Yuu Watase's work you actually own! ;) I don't really own that much but I'd like to see how much there fans support her! I myself own: Alice 19th volumes 1-7 (finished) Absolute Boyfriend volume 1-6 (finished) Imadoki volumes 1-5 (finished) and Ceres: Celestial Legend volumes 1-3 I know... I need to go out and buy more and my collection probably looks very measly compared to some Yuu Watase fans... lol ^_^' But I'm still only 16 and don't have a job so it's kind of a hard task to accomplish. Pictures of your Yuu Watase collections are also welcome and I'd love to see them! <3 |

I own the complete Fushigi Yuugi and Zettai Kareshi (Absolute Boyfriend) collections in Portuguese, which are the only of Watase's works that were released in my country. I also own Imadoki! volume 5 in English, which I brought when I was in the U.S., and Alice 19th volume 7 (brought in an anime con) and Fushigi Yuugi Genbu Kaiden volume 5 (brought in Japan) in the original Japanese version. ^__^ |

Wow, I'm glad to see people actually posting! lol I see some good collections (especially you Matza and Leninha) That Fushigi Yugi series is GOLDEN! lol, but seriously... it would take me forever to own all of that series. Biggest series I own right now is only 10 volumes (Girl Got Game). |

TNX ^__^ " but seriously... it would take me forever to own all of that series" yeah that series is long, it took me two or three years to buy all the vols. it was long but so great so I could wait patiently 'till I'll have money to buy more vols. When I finished it I thought 'wow! I actually finished it!' I was surprised O.O but seriously this is my favorite manga series ^__^ |

Nice... yeah, I like the anime of Fushigi Yugi better then the manga (but that's probably because I watched the anime before reading the manga) so I'd like to buy the DVD's first before I start getting the manga (plus I gotta finish Ceres and Fruits Basket) which are both really big series. ^_^' |

my longest series is basara....i have 22 of its volumes and i intend to get all 27. I don't like the fushigi anime because I read the manga before and its follows the plot exactly which is boring. I like when the anime alters or changes the plot or focuses on something the manga did not. Then you feel like your seeing something you have already learned to love but not the same thing over and over again, but that's just my preference. If the anime happens to come first, then the manga should be the one to change something. |

Nice... all my volumes put together is a lot but when it comes to one series I don't have any super long ones like that... How long did it take you to get those 22 volumes? I've only read the 1st volume of that manga and it seemed pretty interesting! The art was a little old fashioned looking though and I'm into the newer style art... but the plot totally made up for it. I can understand where your coming from but when they change up the anime from the manga I'm either disappointed in one or the other. But if there both the same I'm not really disappointed in either one... so that's why I didn't mind the manga nor the anime of Fushigi Yugi... plus usually when you see one before the other you end up liking it more (unless it leaves out a crap load) <-- atleast that's how it is for me. For example: Fruits Baskets anime leaves out a LOT compared to the manga which has WAY more to the anime... so the anime really disappointed me even though I watched the anime before reading the manga. |

it took awhile, waiting for releases and money, altogether probably around 3 years... my second longest collection is naruto, i have 15 volumes of it, it took less time because I started collecting it more recently and I did not have to wait for the releases because i'm so far behind. i've been collecting it for about a year- year and a half. |

Ack, I hate the FY anime. ;_; Studio Pierrot ruined the character design, made everything way too colorful and childish and happy, changed some parts of the story for no reason... And the animation is awful (even for a 90's series). Not to mention that Miaka and Tamahome were EVEN MORE ANNOYING! x_x So yeah, I also stick with the manga. XD (But that's just your old Studio Pierrot Hater Leninha. :P) |

XD (But that's just your old Studio Pierrot Hater Leninha. :P) I totally agree! I saw something like 10 eps and said "no more!" I think that after reading the manga the anime is disappointing... I couldn't stand the dubbing (especially Nuriko's voice because he is my favorite character) and yes, it's too colorful and Miaka\Tamahome sure are more annoying in the anime. by the way, when will the 7th vol of genbu be translated into english? |

You mean Viz's translation or Shoujo Crusade's translation? Either way, I dunno. I don't live in the US so I don't buy Viz manga, and Shoujo Crusade was doing the crappiest job ever. *Has put Genbu Kaiden on hold until it's licensed in her country* |

I own most of her Fushigi Yugi collection, but I do own all the anime on DVD(I grabbed it when it was extremely slashed priced at RightStuf awhile back). I have read all of Alice 19th, but have most of it purchased. I have read pretty much all of Absolute Boyfriend, but I never felt the urge to actually buy the series. I DID purchase all of Imadoki in one go and loved it to pieces. Totally worth the money. Ceres was ok and it's on hold for me, but I will finish it. Lastly, I have read all of Appare Jipangu! as well and enjoyed it. Absolutely adore her work and always try to buy an art book whenever it comes out, though I'm a bit annoyed that the non-flipped edition of the FY artbook was released AFTER I had purchase the older one. *sighs* Still beautiful and it sits next to my glossy Ceres artbook as well. Being a fan of hers, though, does leave a huge hole in my pocket, but it could be worse. Each of her series could be about as long as a Rumiko Takahashi series, haha. |

I remember when all manga in the US were $15. Crazy days and I still own old FY volumes. And they were in "flipped" format. As for sales, I know borders tend to have a lot of buy 3 get the 4th free and things like that. Also, online stores like rightstuf or akadot have blowout sales for manga and other various anime goods. I say always check by places like that. And if you buy stuff online, rightstuf has an option of printing off the order sheet you create online, so you can send money orders through the mail. As of this post, I know that rightstuf is having a huge Tokyopop sale on pretty much all their manga goods. :) |
