Jesus Christ, that's like a declaration of war.

I have to say, Anju really wanted to prove herself and to everyone what she's capcable of in that fight. Hopefully she can improve herself even more for rest of the season.

I feel bad for Kuon. She really missed Haku a lot.

Hearing on what Oshtor (Haku) said seems to be a glitter of hope for her.

SUCH A GOOD EPISODE!!! Man I really love Haku and how his role of Oshtor is not engulfing him! Shows how great of a supporting character Nekone is!

Oh Man Kuon about to make a return to the village!!! I am hyped about that!!!

She saw those hints of Haku peaking out.

The directing this episode was really, really bad and awkward. The way they tried to blitz through this arc with the awkward dialogue cuts and direction was horrific to watch. All nuance out of the dialogue was cut, absolutely nothing flowed properly not even the insert songs and the shot composition/framing was horrible. Not to mention that they are STILL getting character designs wrong even now. I had low expectations for this episode but they even underdelivered on those. Every episode is somehow worse than the last. Everyone should do themselves a favor and watch the VN's version or even the Zan 2 version of this scene because this was just unnecessarily horrible.

In the end everyone enjoyed some "kids" betting each other.

Thank the heavens that the Kuon dumb voice thing gone away.

Kuon as the princess was the only time I ever liked the character. Oh well. There goes that.

Is it me or was the editing of the subs really bad? Feels like it's getting run through the ol' machine.

I am so disappointed by this episode. I was looking forward to
but the thing they showed in this episode wasn't even half as good as it was in the game. With every episode my expectations are slowly dying

I just can't unsee the Kurou bit at the end. Oh gawd my eyes...

(doesn't help that someones cutting onions in the next room over..)

Edit: Ah yeah...I don't quite remember how it was done in the games but that Haku slip in this episode was...idk...forced a bit?
Like out of all the Haku-ish things he could've done he says that? And Kuon managed to pick up on it? Idk....

the haku slip was almost the same dialogue wise but yeah i can get what you mean as 'forced' it wasn't as casual as real haku would say.
but i liked the episode

real good episode. I mean I can nitpick all day about how much inferior this is to the VN. But at the end of the day, they are all just that -nitpicks and i enjoyed the episode thoroughly. if i had been an anime only, i would have loved it about the same level(maybe a bit less)

Maybe so.
I didn't have big hype, to begin with, but at least I hoped that they would at least do impactful scenes decently, but oh well. I guess I will have to replay the games for the feels

T-T Kuon... watching her cry breaks my heart, I could swear the moment she listens to Haku there was a lot more inner dialog / conflict about her realizing that Oshtor was him and Anju was in the way and that how much she wanted to talk to him.

And so Anju is finally fully back, gotta love how Kurou seems like a thoughtless dummy but he isn't afraid of saying what needs to be said, or farting when required I guess.

Damn this was a really great episode.

Was waiting for Karura to throw her giant sword to Anju.
More Kuon is always the best part.

Also great that we got Kuon returning to the gang next episode probably.
Can't wait for the reveal.

OST is as great as ever

Kurou could barely lift that huge sword(or is that even a sword? lol) and now Anju wield it like any normal sword. Her strength is not a joke XD It also seems they reduced the size of that sword to fit Anju, the length was supposed at least around same as an adult person's height.

Also finally Touka is shown, I really like her serious but clumsy personality and her voice too! Her VA has few characters worked on and the most recent one before this is also Touka from S2 which around 7 years ago, I'm really glad she's still in the cast! She also has one of the prettiest ears XD

oH DAMN... I got goosebumps in this episode!

When Oshtoru speaks like Haku (tho he is Haku) to Anju made me emotional especially after his Monologue and Kuon heard that 😭😭

And the last minute scenes I really felt the emotions of Kuon and she realized that Haku might be alive and embark again on a journey.

ps. I really love Taneda Risa voicing Kuon ❤️❤️😘

I really like this episode quite a bit. Considering how the last season ended with such an emotional gut punch, it was so satisfying to see Kuon run the gamut of emotions and finally be given that glimmer of hope.

I can also understand why fans of the original games might be disappointed in some aspects of the adaptation. (I mean, I am sure we have all had some beloved media adapted in a way we found underwhelming.) That being said, as an anime only person, I am definitely pleased with the series so far. Big emotional moments, pacing, animation: I think everything has been handled pretty well.

A bit fast but not bad nonetheless, of course the original has a bigger impact with keiji's voice...

They should really make an entire episode explaining every important part on the series. I am SO DEEPLY LOST on the story that I have no idea about why many things are happening.

Was it revealed in the last season that Kuon was actually part of the crew from the first season? Did she have a reason to invade Yamato disguised and change her voice?
How exactly Oshtor got killed in the final episodes and why Haku is pretending to be Oshtor? Why did the princess got sick and they had to take refuge?

It's not fair that the developers expect viewers to have played all their games when there could be a portion like me that only watched the first adaptations. That's not how an adaptation should be made!
