Thankful that we got a phenomenal LN adaptation

After dropping Shield Hero S2 and painfully making my way through Classroom of the Elite S2, along with the knowledge that LN adaptations generally are a bit underwhelming most of the time, I just wanted to say that I am EXTREMELY thankful that 86 got the treatment it deserved. The adaptation was extremely faithful to the LN while also adding some anime only moments that enhanced moments in the LN. In a world where a majority of adaptations suffer from cut content and a decrease or lack in characterization and world building, it’s awesome to see a silver lining in the form of 86’s adaptation.

yeah usually anime adaptations are worse than their ln counterpart but from what i’ve heard the anime exceeds 86 ln which is really cool

I'm glad it turned out great. Even being an anime only I felt nothing was lost. Re Zero and Mushoku Tensei are also great adaptations imo.

As Long as the Sun, the moon, and the Earth exist, everything will be alright.

COTE anime only will try to defend their show at any cost but little do they know their fav show is shit, 86 is the epitome of a perfect LN adaptation

86 and Monogatari are perfect LN adaptations,as for CoTE I loved S1 but once I started reading the LN I realised how inferior and underwhelming truly the adaptation is compared to the source material.

As an anime only viewer, 86 and Mushoku Tensei were great, especially their respective 2nd cour. I wish we get an announcement for S2 of 86 like we have for Mushoku Tensei

Yea, I think that applies to basically any series I’ve read and then watched, except for Spy x Family. However, I’ve never been as heartbroken with a sh*t adaptation as I am with Lucifer and the Biscuit Hammer. That’s one of my favourite manga…

yep gotta give credits to Fate Zero and Kara no Kyoukai too, Kara no Kyoukai really underrated and was way ahead of its time especially those animation in like 2007-2009 era.

hell, even mushoku tensei was fairly faithful to the ln, though it's not like there wasn't stuff that was left out.

I heard that Mushoku Tensei cut out the content on why Eris left Rudeus.

I have not read Mushoku Tensei LN (because I have too many LNs in my plan list) but I heard from LN readers that LN is better than anime for Mushoku Tensei.

EDIT: 86 has average ratings in Japan while Mushoku Tensei is no2 2021 anime in Japan. Not sure if 86 will get a sequel but the LN is going strong. Volume 11 is currently being translated by Yen Press~

86 sequels have not been announced yet. Quality will be the same if the production staff remains the same. My biggest fear is A1 Pictures’s reputation of overworking their staff to death~

Nice profile picture! I recognise your profile picture (Shiina Mahiru), my prediction is that it will be the no1 2023 anime in Japan if adaptation is not mishandled.

Thanks. Yeah, hopefully.
I don't have high expectations on Project no.9 though. Their adaptations so far have been okay but their latest adaptation of Tsurekano is not the best.
