Has an actual budget in the beginning, but the original Rwby's fight scenes are still better😭

In my opinion the original fight scenes were such heat, even though they didn't have fhe budget to actually give everyone a face😂😂. (By the way if you watch this, yes the original started out with no budget, but nowadays it looks awesome in comparison and original is still going. I do like this remake though so far, but do you guys disagree or agree that the first few volumes of the original had better fight scenes? (Fight scenes alone)

I TOTALLY AGREE! I've been telling that to my girlfriend when she tried to pick up this remake (she hadn't watched the original at the time yet) - this has nothing on the original fightscenes. They were so much more hype.
I am interested in this remake still, I just really gotta agree with that opinion. xvx

I actually find the animation of the fights in Queendom look better than the original as I find it having better visuals and effects overall but the original is still good

R.I.P. Monty, his fights in the original was quite literally the main reason it was as enjoyable as it was

I'm still on episode 3 but i kinda agree, Monty Oum's choreography had a lot more passion and I also prefer the original soundtrack

Agreed. That's the main thing that pulled me in. I miss Monty. Rwby is good, bur fight scenes haven't been as good ever since he passed. He had so much ahead of himself I feel like

Monty Oum's fight choreography and pacing is unparalleled, but it was fun to see those fights from Volume 1 animated by the team here (especially Team RWBY against the Nevermore)

Yes I don't disagree that the visuals and affects are better for sure, but the 3d choreography Monty Oum put into his fight scenes before he passed were astonishing

Fight choreography wise yes i agree, monty was truly ahead of his time, but i am enjoying the updated visuals in the remake, looks really clean

The OG RWBY indeed has awesome fight scenes, the choreography is simply fantastic and that's one of the main reasons I love the OG RWBY, I got hyped in every single one of them (apart from some wonky moments in Vol. 1).

The fight scenes in this anime are not bad, it's good in some cases I guess but it's a huge downgrade compared to the OG RWBY IMHO, both visually, and musically, I simply can't get hyped with it, something is missing here.

The OG RWBY's fight scenes move very smoothly but the visuals are, well, bad. On the other hand, while Queendom's movement is inferior, it looks far better and more polished. So its a matter of preference really.

Imagine if Monty was alive and he and Shaft's animators teamed up. That would have been crazy.

The fight scenes can never be the same because of one simple reason: It’s drawn 2D anime versus 3D models. Even if Monty was alive and working with Shaft it wouldn’t look as good. RWBY’s fighting style works well with 3D because it’s designed around it. Translating Monty’s fast paced and fluid style to 2D is basically impossible without a truly ridiculous budget and 60fps fight animation (Like One Punch Man, but even so it’s still a different style)

I’d say Shaft capture the elements of the fights, and Shaft are also really good at fight scenes in general so it all looks fantastic. I love it, but its never going to be the same as Monty’s animation. I don’t understand why people are surprised when “it doesn’t look as good/the same” lmao.

Read what I wrote. There is an actual valid reason for why the original's fight scenes are better. In fact, it is one of the main reasons why it became popular or at least well-known.
