About time Kakashi gets more screen time again.

Feels like this episode didn't have much direction with Boruto wondering around town. Kakashi isn't exactly the best advisor for relationships but his reactions were comedy gold this episode imo. This show needs more of Kakashi.

I really liked this one. It was nice nice fluff. And my favorite character, Kakashi. I love how he acts like he doesn't care and then solves the problem without drawing to much attention to him. And well itach itach series :).
Now I can wait till my copy of the Kakaski light novel that just came out in English arrives in mail.
Next week looks to be fun too.

So this like Tamaya (玉屋・たまや) and Kagiya (鍵屋・かぎや) with a bit of Romeo and Juliet mixed in. Interesting.

On another note, Kakashi is as crafty as ever. Anything for the Make-out series. You would've thought he was getting the sharingan back with the way his eyes were open XD.

I am a bit curious about how the village responded to the remodeling and modernization period. Consider there's a bit of divide between them makes me even more curious.

Judging by Kakashi's appearance he doesn't age at all but we can see his bones aren't the bones he used to have. I would willingly watch more episodes with the former Hokage. The next episode is going to be funny, Kawaki will have to get along with his new classmates.

True true Kakashi appearance make this filler more great. Its about time. and also can't believe those villager manage to blackmail him with icha-icha tactics lmao. Then the romance plot with the combination of fireworks, suit well for this summer season after all. Writer and director for this episode is truly based.

Alright guys, Himawari and Kawaki ninja academy saga start next. Hyping it up a bit!

Tbh, I legit watch boruto just to see the OG characters, idc what the kids are or what they become! Since, they showed kakashi its a win win. It hurts my heart when kakashi says that his backs pains. I mean he's the same person whom people once were feared even far from konoha. They should either have made Minato: The Previous Generations lol

I liked it because the episode shows that Kakashi made Boruto carry things for him all day and Boruto gets into an argument with old people who want to decide who will show the fireworks first

Boruto and Kakashi are at the dumpling shop and it seems that Boruto is helping Kakashi carry his things around. Kakashi has gotten so old that he is having back issues. So apparently Kakashi called Boruto out here for this task. BORUTO WHY DID YOU AGREE TO DO THIS?!?!?!

And then we get into the meat of the episode!

Two groups of people from New City and Old Town (which are both in the Leaf Village just to be clear) start bickering. Boruto tries to step in to stop it, but he fails miserably. On the side of New City is Taruto and Ohagi is on the side of Old Town. Prior to Boruto's involvement, Kakashi tells Boruto that he's had his share of mediating fights between Naruto and Sasuke. Man that takes me back.

Naruto and Sasuke have a brotherly bond, hence why they always competed with each other and would fight about almost anything. Yubeshi explains to Boruto that one, New City has been tasked with making their own fireworks display one week before the festival and Taruto was put in charge. Ohagi got upset because that means people won't be excited for Old Town's fireworks, which is understandable. She also explains that she and Sabure plan to get married, but this fighting is preventing them from doing so. Boruto agrees to help, but Kakashi isn't so interested.

This plot of two lovers being apart due to their quarreling families has been done many times in fiction, and it happens to occur in Make Out Tactics. However, Volume 5 was so intense that many readers passed out, so the ending can only be found in the First Edition. Yubeshi happens to have the first edition so now Kakashi has agreed to help out.

Boruto and Kakashi go to talk to Taruto, but that ends in absolute failure… but Boruto and Kakashi learn that Taruto and Ohagi used to be great friends, and they even came up with a new type of dessert, DUMPLING AND CAKE COMBINATIONS! Before they leave, Saburo explains that Taruto was the only person from New City who participated in Old Town’s fireworks display, which explains why he was so close to Ohagi and they used to go on trips together. But then the New City was tasked with doing their own display, and Taruto was put in charge of that.

Boruto and Kakashi set up a meeting between Taruto and Ohagi in the Hokage Mansion, but they end up bickering once again. Boruto decides to execute his idea and show Taruto and Ohagi the dumpling shortcake the two created together. However, this ends in a failure because supposedly Taruto made this to try to break the news of him being in charge of the New City fireworks display, and then there’s even more fighting. Kakashi then decides to have each side make their own display and compete to see who has the superior one. The winner would be doing the display from now on. Boruto has doubts that this plan will work, but he doesn’t know what’s coming (and I didn’t either).

Kakashi passes by Taruto and the New City fireworks people in his classic disguise. The two sides set off their fireworks, and the two sides realized their fireworks were switched. Kakashi reveals that it was him who did it.

After the display, Taruto and Ohagi meet again and decide that they need to have this fireworks match again! Saburo and Yubeshi insist the two stop fighting and reveal their plans to get married. So, the two make up and everything works out for them. Boruto helps Kakashi with his back since he hurt it when carrying the fireworks.

Boruto asks Kakashi if he’s read the first edition of Make Out Tactics! Kakashi reveals that he doesn’t need to read it to know how this kind of story ends, and the episode ends with Yubeshi and Saburo getting married. It all ended happily ever after.

I’m excited for the next episode!

OH MYYHY, Boruto has got to be greatest anime of all time. the incredible animation and story telling is amazing and I love how there is absolutely zero percent filler, Boruto is the greatest written protagonist of all time and makes characters like Guts look rubbish

In my opinion, there's too much unnecessary romance. I'd prefer to see a new anime-exclusive Ōtsutsuki character or even an arc explaining the whole clan – why don't contact the author to talk about details and do an arc about them? Really. Too much romance in a non-romance series is boring.

I second this. Pains me how they Tryna show that kakashi is old already and such, while master jaraiya was older than him (about this time on naruto before) and doesn’t act this way… like I’m sure they can try to make boruto a good anime without making the OG naruto characters like this…. Ugh.

I did. Naruto. Naruto Shipuuden. All the movies. And read most of the light novels. He acts in this way after becoming Hokage and especialy after retiring.

I enjoyed this so much it was almost a 5/5 for me
however the obvious answer of "just do it at same time" and people being cringe for sake of final point threw me off.

Next episode Kawaki finally gets an education!! I heard Himawari will be there too!!(?)!! After rewatching, she will be!! Kawaki and Himawari academy so special <3
