| Wowza, that was a wild ride It was nice to see Rei take a bit of charge. Yuki sort of disappeared right after and from his whole 'I'm not doing this for a good reason' attitude, I think he really did like Nanami and part of him was hoping Rei would back down. Rei talking to his dad was actually pretty nice. His father's little spiel didn't necessarily absolve him of anything, but it showed us how realistic his plight was. He wanted to make sure no one could say anything about his choices so he worked so hard that he lost sight of what was important which I feel could have been a very possible future for Rei. And I guess Granny-Loud-Mouth is sort of giving Rei the greenlight to try, but idk. Anime/Manga always seem to try to appease elders in their stories, even if they're classist boomers. It would have been nice to see her apologize for essentially telling Nanami that she doesn't deserve to be associated with her family because she's poor. I also can't help but feel like they're starting to inject random drama for the sake of keeping things 'exciting'. Like everything is starting to go back to normal and then OOP here comes long-lost-father! But who knows, it could give us some room to explore Nanami's character. She's always portrayed as the happy-go-lucky type 'best-girl-chan' so maybe facing her estranged father would let us see a different side to her. I'm excited for more cute romance stuff and I'll defs pick up the next volume once it's released (early July I think?) |
