anyone knows a character that starts off being blind, deaf, etc,

I see other people saying Bojji from Ousama ranking, but other than being deaf(and he stays deaf, no progression at all at that end), there's no similarity

Ousama ranking is also a very childish show. It does not even come close to the dark tone of Dororo. It's like comparing hand holding to hardcore seggs.

I would say Sasaki Kojiro from Vagabond. Kojirou is deaf and mute, though still literate. His personality is very playful, almost child-like. Ittousai has also commented on the possibility that Kojirou's eyes have become better developed to compensate for his lack of hearing. I guess he's similar to hyakkimaru.

Fushi from "to your eternity" is the closest in my opinion.
and even has a solid storyline, just like dororo. highly recommend to watch it.

as for other examples which are kind of similar have already been mentioned by others.

but that anime have got the potential to make someone cry. Boji is someone who is hard to hate, and all his sufferings is what makes it unbearable.

Btw, Jujutsu Kaisen and Kimetsu No Yaiba is more of a childish show tbh.

Demon Slayer is pretty much for any age group, JJK is clearly targetted towards teens.

In Ousama ranking, the MC and other characters cry, hug and stuff, which isn't bad, but it happens every five minutes and over the stupidest of reasons. The intro had kind of a mysterious vibe and was great, but the second half is just dumb. An episode of Doraemon is more adult than this. Sure, it has dark incidents like people dying, but the logic used in the show is clearly aimed towards small children. The show ruins your immersion if your tolerance for childish scenes is less. I'm not saying that the show cannot be enjoyed or is bad, but it's not comparable to Dororo's dark tone and atmosphere and probably not what the OP is looking for.

Tbh, this show is lot better than Kimetsu No Yaiba and even Jujutsu Kaisen tbf. And I'm saying frankly, a the age doesn't decide a show is good or bad. Doraemon is undoubtedly best kids show out there, kids like KNY, some KNY haters like JJK just to be superior,, but Ousama Ranking might be childlike as it revolves around Boji, and also it's intention was never to be dark show like Dororo. And don't judge by its art style, this show have lot more to offer than generic shonen.

Well, yes. I don't think its intention is completely to be a dark show. Which is why I don't see the point of it being recommended here. Like I said, probably not what OP was looking for, no similarities to Dororo.

Rest is pretty much subjective, but that's true for what I said in my previously comment as well. I never judge by art styles and enjoy new artstyles quite a lot, which is why I was very excited for Ousama ranking. I got dissapointed by latter half, but that's just me.

Also about Doraemon being the best show for kids, that's a very nice opinion. I really like Shin-Chan as well, especially the movies. Not gonna lie, these shows still beat most shows right now.

he asked characters like Hyakkimaru not shows like Dororo,, Boji is similar to Hyakkimaru in many ways. So even if u r true about the tone of the show, it's off-topic here.

Yes Doraemon, Shin-chan are still best kids shows.

Bojji ain't got any other similarity other than being deaf. He doesn't even gain his voice back. Just some bullshit technique that makes him "overpowered" over the course of 1 episode.

he being deaf, not being able to speak and weild a sword is more than enough to put him in recommendations.

Any better characters in ur list? Because no anime/characters can be exact copy of another.
