Music In Komi-San wa, Comyushou desu.

I don't see much of a discussion for this aspect of the show which is really sad because it has by far some of the most expressive slice of life soundtracks ever.

Most shows that have such amazing soundtracks are shounen, action, fantasy or drama, mainly because such scores elevate the genre further. But I think rarely do we have slice of life music that expresses the feeling of slice of life so much.

The starting soundtrack reflects so much of the feeling of the show, the blissfulness and beauty of high school, that ultimately sets the mood for the entire episode. Then of course, the dramatic musical of the chalkboard scene is such an amazing piece that is also used for other important scenes that really enables the show to communicate more. Even the simple background music everytime they slip through the classroom, doing random things, just living their lives reflects the mood so much. The feeling of living in a small world, free of worries and problems that inhabit the real world.

It has a plethora of soundtracks that might be significantly the same. But the overall musicality they convey is delivered extremely well paired with amazing visuals. And of course, the opening and the ending. It's probably been said so much but I think the opening is really good because of its incredible chemistry with the opening animation. My favourite part is the verses after the explosive intro which I think perfectly displays the feeling of both the anxiety and blissfulness of high school. The whole music and animation of the opening is such a godlike combination. Lastly the ending, just like the opening the music reflects the animation so so well that I can't help to feel a little bit emotional even though the whole ending lacks context, music and animation tells such a story already that its enough for me to be emotionally invested everytime I watch it.

yeaa, I think its often overlooked how good the music and visual paring in the opening. Its such a perfect combination I love it so much

If only the show were serious and not an idiot comedy with surreal situations, meaningless logic and jokes repeated without grace, the music it has would be good for it..

Understandable really, even I thought at first that its gonna be SOL romance centric with a tad bit of comedy rather than the other way around. But I still like it very much, I think the over the top comedy scenes is easily forgiveable with how great SOL themes were portrayed. One of my favourite tracks is the score with an intro of simple piano notes as it divulges into a more joyous melody. Its so simple yet so expressive it reflects the feeling of the simplicity of high school life. So yeah even with the very ridiculous comedy, I think people who looks for a great SOL title Komi-san is still a definite recommend
