I have to say having thoroughly engraved the original Black Rock Shooter design into my heart, I can’t accept any changes. The first one had a captivating vibe of %30 cute and %70 hardcore, the endearing perfectly blank face, and the athletic yet muscle lacking build that looks like it could run through the sky. Why the designers would throw that away is a mystery.

Nothing was changed about her though, every design of BRS is completely different and treated as another character.

The new character and world designs are super disappointing to me. All the other spin-offs (OVA, tv series, Innocent Soul, The Game, Rock-Chan (at the start at least)) have kind of stuck to the original design principals of huke’s artwork. BRS in any incarnation has an incredibly distinct visual identity - mostly black and white outfits with one other accent color, the jagged and gritty bits of machinery and metal incorporated into weapons and settings, the repeating checkerboard patterns. You could probably write a whole essay about it. But Dawn Fall instead stuck the characters in Generic Post Apocalypse Man vs Machine World #32. It doesn’t feel like Black Rock Shooter visually.

one of the selling points of the original Brs was how cool it looked and I feel like it has all been lost in this new adaptation.
it doesn't look as bad as x arm but it sure is not what I expected from it
