Haha, that was great! Jeanne's part straight up made me laugh out loud. This 2nd part is so good so far. Man, I'm sad I'm close to finishing it and we don't know how long it'll take for a 3rd season.

I'll say what I said in the previous season again, if Vanitas and Jeanne don't get a happy ending, I'll be pissed.

I was laughing throughout! honestly, I have no hope for a season 3 anytime soon, seeing as how much manga material there is left to adapt - so manga it is!

Adorable seeing Vanitas and Jeanne slowly coming to terms with actually being in love with one another, especially Vanitas who went as far as asking Roland for advice.

Vanitas is so cute in here, finally, he is growing what a main character should be.
It's not that I dislike this genre but... to add unnecessary fan services to/in/for heroines
and ultimately destroys her character and personality; their purity tarnished because of it,
is the only thing I hope to not happen to them. For that sole purity is my fan service.

Maybe someone can better explain it to me, but I'm quite taken aback by how uncharacteristic Vanitas was acting toward/about Jeanne. I thought it was heavily implied that he was genuinely in love with Jeanne up to this point. I thought part of that love included taunting her. If I'm not mistaken, Vanitas IS undeniably in love with Jeanne, right? Just as long as she doesn't love him back???

But now she clearly does love him back... so all of the sudden, does Vanitas just not have an interest in her anymore? All of the sudden it's like he's trying to deny his feelings for her. And he's acting like a bashful schoolgirl, despite being all suave and dominating before.

Idk, I just feel like if all that is the case, then it's a bit unsatisfyingly uncharacteristic seeing Vanitas do a 180, and to see him exhibit an opposite personality. And the reason is because all of the sudden he knows Jeanne reciprocates his original feelings?

So what happens now? Is he just not in love with her anymore? Will she pursue him, with him being put off, despite him pursuing her up until this point?

All very very strange and sudden to me. Even so, I won't deny that I've enjoyed the show up to this point, and that I really like both the Vanitas and Jeanne characters. I don't often seek romance from anime like this, but I find the Vanitas/Jeanne relationship quite adorable.

Of course, I'm actually coming back to this thread to leave this comment having finished the whole anime series, to date. I won't spoil anything, but I do feel a bit unsatisfied by how the show left off on their relationship.

Funny episode, mostly, because that last part was obviously dark. I'd say Vanitas and Jeanne's romance thing just got a little tiny weeny bit more tolerable.

Jeanne blurting out her honest feelings like it's nothing made me die of laughter!

Maybe a bit too honest! Jeanne is ready to fuck! Vanitas needs to prepare himself the next time they meet.

Vanitas asking Roland for advice on romance is one of the best comedic beats possible for this show.

I wasn't sure where the romance would lead, but it has been brilliantly drawing Vanitas & Jeanne to new horizons. The build-up of antics to Vanitas asking how anyone could ever love him made it sink in like a true sucker punch. I saw criticism of it in season one as being pointless, but I suspected it was going to decrypt the inner workings of these characters at their core.
