| Without going into spoilers, Steins;Gate 0 is a mid-quel that happens during Steins;Gate, and it is technically canon. It’s worth a watch, but only after finishing the first series. |

| Just watch Stein's Gate first, then Stein's Gate 0 and the movie in any order you want. Don't spoil the fun by stopping one season and starting another in between. |

It listed Steins;Gate 0 as an alternative version because it's neither a prequel nor a sequel (and also calling it a midquel wouldn't be entirely correct, it's complicated), but that doesn't mean it isn't canon. Without the events of Steins;Gate 0, the original ending would never exist (but that doesn't mean it's mandatory to watch, it just expands the story). Look up on the internet if you don't believe me. On the contrary, the Deja Vu movie contradicts the rules established in the original series so much that I wouldn't even consider it canon. |

(Because it is) 0 then happens after this Alternative Ending , which is why he's tagged as Sequel to it. (Because it is) So you now have the timeline , but... the "Canon" is something else. The Canon is the true story viewed by the characters , a logical suite of event where what happens is kept in the universe and influence the rest of the story. (I invite you to check the Wikipedia page.) The Movie contradict the rules of time travel said in the original show , so it's illogical in the universe of Steins;Gate , so it can't truly happens and thus is not Canon. (= a Filler) And you also say official sequal , but who is the "official" who said that ? Steins;Gate is originally a Visual Novel done by 5pb & Nitroplus , and i never heard they ever talked about the Movie being Canon. The official Sequels to Steins;Gate is Steins;Gate 0 (It's not really a Sequel but i think you understand) & the upcoming Steins;???. Note that Steins;Gate is also part of a larger serie named "Science Adventure Series". |

It's not chronological either. It's different timeline. And... *Sigh* why bother explaining.... You guys are already stupid by saying SG 0 is non cannon. | Steins;Gate is the main series. The movie is NOT canon and it's hypothetical sequel of the main series and breaks some of the world logic, but still worth a watch. Steins;Gate 0 is chronologically a "midquel", but there's time travel involved so it's not really one. Just don't watch 0 expecting a season 2, so take the right time to enjoy the conclusive ending of Steins Gate and then watch and enjoy the other conclusive ending of 0. I recommend watching like this: S;G (E1-24) (c) - S;G OVA (nc) - S;G Movie (nc) - S;G E23B (c) - S;G 0 (c) - S;G 0 OVA (c?) c=canon nc=not canon Fell free to watch as: S;G (E1-24) - S;G E23B - S;G 0 - Everything else |
