I guess I missed something important, when I've heard about the survival of Dio and how it was supposed to happen..
I completed the previous seasons just before s3, so I'm positive, that either I missed something important, or there is a big plot error.
In the previous seasons, we've seen, how

So.. How is it possible, that s3 tells us the story, about the same coffin, closed and with
, when he was clearly empty and occupied by Elizabeth.
I can't be the only person who must be curious.

From what I remember, Elizabeth’s coffin had actually two compartments, she was in the upper one, and Dio hid in the bottom one. After she exited, probably because of the waves (idk) the coffin ended up in the bottom of the ocean with Dio still inside. I think that on the first episode of S3, when Dio’s coffin is retrieved, it was explained

Yeah it's basically a plothole that Araki conveniently covered by saying that there are 2 different compartments.
The problem is that when you rescue a woman and a child floating in a coffin in the sea you don't just throw it back to the sea, so it was just Araki being lazy.

it wasn’t Araki being lazy, he just needed to bring Dio back into the story for part 3 & this was the only way he could do it due to part 1’s ending unfortunately

I mean, he was still an inexperienced mangaka at that time, so plot holes were expected.

My theory is that he was planning to start an entirely new manga then he suddenly decided to use JoJo's name and made a few edits, that's the only way I found to explain the inconsistencies in part 3.

Colours in JJBA don't mean anything

Generally this coffin thing is just a retcon. Every part starts with a retcon.
