| A dedicated internet space I am delighted to formally announce MAL Rewrite’s new face on the internet: malrewrite.com. On this beautifully crafted site you will find our important social links and all public documentation. The website is not a replacement for our club page. The club page will continue to be our primary base of operations, from member management to posting updates (like this one). Instead, the website will be MAL Rewrite’s easy-to-access “portal page” that contains quick links to our club, Discord server, newsletters, interviews, and public documentation (e.g. the Style Guide and Content Guidelines documents). Our new documentation home As most of you are familiar with by now, all of MAL Rewrite’s documentation has been contained in one way or another on Google Drive, such as the Important Documents folder. However, for the longest time, we have tolerated many annoying nuances that come with using Google Drive to host static documentation. Static documentation is documentation that does not change often. This is opposed to dynamic documentation that does change often such as the Synopses Tracker. For static documentation, Google drive:
To address these issues, we decided to move all public static documentation to a service called GitBook. GitBook allows organisations to host their own documentation on their servers for a price. But as MAL Rewrite is a volunteer, non-profit organisation, GitBook kindly granted us their premium tier at no expense. So what makes GitBook better than Google Drive?
You can view the documentation that has been ported to GitBook via malrewrite.com - just click on the Important Documents button. It is useful to know, however, that all of our new GitBook documentation lives on the docs.malrewrite.com URL. For example, our Style Guide can be found on docs.malrewrite.com/style-guide. As of the time of this announcement, everyone can access the GitBook. Therefore, only the major static documentation that is already public to both members and non-members has been ported over to GitBook from Google Drive. Private documents such as the Common Grammatical Mistakes document, which contains answers to the Editor Test, have not been ported over for obvious reasons. These private documents will remain in Google Drive until further notice, along with the dynamic documentation. To summarise… Public documentation that does not change often has almost entirely been moved over to GitBook Private documentation will remain in Google Drive until further notice Dynamic documentation such as the Synopses Tracker will remain in Google Drive and has no plans to leave it If this confuses you - don’t worry. You just need to know that to find most documents, head over to malrewrite.com. And for everything else, or if you can’t find the document you are looking for, you will find likely find it in its usual place (i.e. it has not been moved). Future plans Very soon, we will move more and more of our features over to GitBook. This includes but is not limited to Interviews, Newsletters, and Season Writer Allocation. Any concerns? As a side remark, using Discord's profile pictures and not MAL ones seems to be going in spirit against the "Discord is not mandatory for Rewrite" axiom. |
| So glad we have a new website, I'm literally shaking and crying this is the greatest moment of mal rewrite history. Thank you everyone who's been a part of this extraordinary journey, we couldn't have done it without you. I'd like to mention that I am truly shaking and crying as I type this. Such a great moment, truly a true poggers scene in this anime called life. |

The search function is for the GitBook, not the website.
